Nope, Michael, it's about all we can handle to remember that Denver is an hour earlier! Actually the common general conception about Nebraska is that we probably would tell time with a stick stuck in the ground!!!

Hahahaha. Just how small is it up there, you have given me the image in my head of a wool ball flying across a dusty road

Actually we are a fairly large state smack in the middle of the country. Nebraska is about 400 mi long and about 200 miles wide. I believe in all of that area we have just shy of a million souls living here. Our largest city is Omaha at about 400,000, and Lincoln (the capitol city) at about 200,000. The most important product in Nebraska is football. Memorial Stadium, where the Huskers play in Lincoln seats just under 80,000 and is laughingly (and truthfully!) called the 3rd largest city in Nebraska on game days! Yeah, we're a little rural, but all in all, not a bad place to live (if you can cope with the occasional snow storm in April, that is!)

Thanks for that Terry, my American Geography will be much stronger now, I have a few friends from Maryland over here studying, and their friends with them freak out when I know all these places in America and facts.

Lincoln have a decent college basketball team, I know that much :)

Mike

PS Snow strom in April, I'd love that

400 miles that seem like 4,000... :D And that is no joke... Don't you guys grow mountains there Terry?? Or does the wind keep blowing them away?? :)

No kidding about the wind! But if you only travel I-80 one gets the impression that NE is really flat. It is there along the interstate which runs along the Platte river where it IS flat. But head 15-20 miles north or south and the whole place is rolling hills. North of I-80 is the sand hills that are only used for cattle grazing--attempts that have been made in the past to farm the ground by breaking up the fragile natural growth only resulted in very large barren sand blowouts devoid of growth. Cool places to find arrowheads, though. And about the wind--any good Nebraskan (and I'm gonna get in trouble for this one) will tell you that Nebraska is so windy because Wyoming blows and Iowa sucks...

Terry
Would you please leave some fish in the barrel for me to shoot please... :D As in, this is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel... ;) You are on fire with the funny today... :D I'm home alone laughing my arse off...

Now lets talk about Iowa for a second... There is no place on the planet as flat as Iowa... I now understand what they mean when they say, you can watch your dog run away for three days... :D It is that flat folks...

Gawd I need to get to posting some results here before I fall asleep... Thank goodness Alan is back on the mic to keep me from dozing... Maybe a shot before we get started will give that boost I need... Let me go check... BRB

Dude, I lived in Kansas for 20 years...that's some flat land right there :)

UPDATE- TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR
Has been called to the lanes twice... :D
I believe we will get under way at 1:15 left coast time...

Nebraska is flat and there is nothing there. I drove across 80 one time, it blew my mind when I came to this museum that they then built OVER the expressway. Land everywhere but they biuld it over the road. Of course there was also signs on the expressway warning you not to stop and take pictures. I assume the cost of land must be alot then

oh and attention in the pit alky funny cars to the lanes
