Why is there so much redundancy during the broadcast? I love watching the racing, but it is draining.

I went to ESPN3 to watch the replay, and after looking at what other replays they have I did not know that Spelling Bee(s) were a sport o_O

TV production is very expensive. Producers have X amount of minutes they must fill with content. If you show the same thing twice you only have to come up with half as much content. Three times = one third the content.
Many cable TV shows tell you the same thing again after every commercial. This is not because they think you are dumb although they may think that if you are watching their show. They do it to fill the minutes on the cheap. Net Net there may be just +- eight minutes of fresh programming in a half hour show.
Racing programs are no different. They have to fill time and they prefer to do so on the cheap.

Don't forget that the Epping race coverage is on ESPN today instead of ESPN2, and it starts early. 1:00pm et.
