NHRA averages 998k viewers on @fox Sunday in Sonoma, peaks at 1,224,000 - Not bad at all

Hey just wanted to mention, I've been following F1 a bit for about the past year. And as much as we all complain about NHRA and their decision making process at times, I'm amazed at how much of a circus it is over at F1. They are constantly changing rules, from qualifying structure, to track borders, to who gets penalized vs. who doesn't for infractions, radio communication limitations, etc. And Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are F1's version of KB racing in Pro Stock. :D

- vegas and pomona may rebound?; so far countdown not producing increased numbers.
- FSN1 late summer/fall afternoon broadcasts struggling, probably to nfl.

It looks like the 4-wide almost doubled the 2-wide with viewers at Charlotte..

Maybe because their scripted countdown the usual 3 teams of Schumacher, Force and the Kalitta's always win the championships and people aren't interested they do like variety!
This isn't meant as a knock on these teams but it is a fact!
There's no more grudges it's all scripted and complementary at the top end with the occasional dig if someone took to long to stage etc!
At least in NASCAR tempers flair and competition flourishes and wether you want to admit it or not the fans love it!

Second Charlotte is also during football season, so it's always going to be lower.

It's better to compare it to the races around it, when other sports are in/out of season. Surprisingly, as it is supposed to be more of a novelty, specialty race, the 4-wide is the lowest of all the early races.

I haven't looked at every year, but the first couple of Countdown years, the numbers were lower then those same races pre-countdown. They will never match the numbers for races earlier in the year. Once football has started viewers are sucked away, although the NFL numbers are down pretty hard this year. The only counter to that would be to redo the schedule and end the season at Indy. Start the second or third week on January.

would think the real disappointment is that the us nationals did not draw a combined 1million+ viewers over sunday/monday with live programming on both FSN1 and network (sunday was on FSN1, monday was combination of both).......all the western swing races that were live on the network exceeded indy, and they were only a single day......i wouldn't want to be in charge of making changes to schedule based on a previous year's numbers......almost have to try something different, but how, and what, and when???
