There is no substitute for Al Tucci when it comes to broadcasting excitement. His Pro Mod coverage was fantastic! I swear, you could be standing in line to get a hot dog while he is announcing Z Stock and you would go running back to your seat to see it! Please let's have more of him!

I had to turn the volume off when he was screaming. The Fox crew was good but the NHRA.TV was not, Angelle was ok but the continual talking over the burnouts and runs was a joke. Maybe Alan was more important than we realized.

And people bit$h and moan at me for not getting nhratv,this is why,sound,all announcers and hardly car sounds. I think at this point we'd be better off with espn

I listened to his annoying voice last night for the Duck X race and besides monster trucks shows, I think he would be a perfect fit as a horse race announcer.

Not sure I understand why one person left, Alan, then somebody decided to change the whole way .tv has been run. To me, listening to the track announcer at a drag race, if you can hear them, is like a radio broadcast of a baseball game. Sometimes silence is golden. I just don’t get why .tv has turned into a full on booth and production. Frieburger has no idea when to talk. Today has tried to call the action as it’s happening. Spitting out stats that just take up air time. I try not to complain but I reckon I am. One person in the booth with the occasional guest appearance is more than enough. And to bring this back around to Tucci….hes not it. End rant haha.

was watching rabbit ear tv in kitchen yesterday late morning. PBR bull riding and PBA bowling were my choices for sports.
so i watched them both a little, listening more than watching, and noticed similarities to nhra coverage. stupid music always playing
was the one thing i noticed the most. also noticed PBR now has 'teams' and not always individuals competing. bowling the same.
you can bet these two leagues struggle with ratings the exact same way nhra does, and as niche sports, both probably compete very closely with nhra.
pay to play broadcasting. not sure what the answer is, but i bet rodeo and bowling purists bitch about their tv coverage too.

Grew up in the Chicago suburbs, will never forget the commercials for Union Grove on WLS 890 am. Also US 30 in Gary Indiana.
