That was posted here a few weeks ago. (Mid August)

Apparently, they had an opening party at the new track this past weekend.... although it doesn't look like anyone actually raced on the new track.

One thing I didn’t get was why didn’t they use post-stressed concrete the full length of the track? How is the Motorplex now vs. what it was years ago (They said they ground it down once and that was it. Very low maintenance). I was really hoping he would ask Kurt Johnson that question, but he didn’t.

Is it an expense thing (totally understandable if asphalt is a lot better than it used to be).

if i remember correctly watching this video, doesn't he say something about other nat. event tracks that are 1/2 and 1/2, produce stellar performance?
so they did not think they needed the expense of 100% concrete? i watched this, but as brian mentioned, it was a few weeks ago. i think joe drove over there for this interview
following the topeka race

He did say that concrete/asphalt was an excellent surface. Hard to imagine that it would be better than post-stress concrete, however I’m sure the cost differential is substantial. I’m not even sure there are ANY post stress concrete tracks out there other than the Motorplex. All concrete, sure. Post stress….don’t know about that one.
