If he doesn't make it in the show tonight and ends up not qualifying he or PRO or both should do something. He brings in these new sponsors, makes a decent run (apparently) and a timing bug bites him. Let him run again, I say.
Alan, I know you're right. That's the way it's always been, I just think it should be changed. If the malfunction would have been during staging, they would have shut him off and let him run later. What's the difference.
Not the first time this has happened and it will not be the last. The NHRA handled this the same way they have in the past. Dale has the data from the run to look at and fine tune the car for tonight, so losing the run should not really matter.
