Vegas 4 Wide-Densham Q4 Run Thrown Out? (1 Viewer)

Yes his chute did come out , check again CHUTES plural nuff said.

Yes but Rupert who was next to him on that pass also only had one chute. If I'm not mistaken I feel like most guys only pull one chute in Vegas.

Obviously something happened that we are all not privy to that would warrant the NHRA from dropping the hammer on them.

Yes I agree with your comment on Jason, an yes I agree with your last sentence in your comments. this is will be my last comment on this. Gary is a VERY good friend of mine an shit happens sometimes at the races that is not always exposed during the event.

Friend or no, the infraction should be full disclosure, should be forth coming,NHRA getting as bad as NASCAR not telling anyone anything.

Someone will have to explain to me why you all wanting to know the specifics means that any of the parties involved are required to tell you? The people involved with the situation know the specifics. They are the only ones who need to know. If they choose to make that information public, that is there choice, but under no circumstances is it incumbent upon them to do so.

You are correct. While I and others on here have been guessing out loud what may have happened at the end of the day it is a matter between NHRA and Gary/Steve and the entire team. I'm sure Gary had already mailed the check off and has moved on with a lesson on whatever happened.

Remember betting is legal now,put a lot of money on a car ,they are disqualified. Why? to much money on them?this is got to be on the level. We must have transprency. Its not that big a deal just get out in front of it"we unhooked something we weren't supposed to.We got fined for stupid mistake won't happen again."Its over instead of rumours getting blown up.

gary must be shaking his head thinking back on his entire career and now how easy it is today to lose $2500.00, and he wasn't even in a casino.
this is an odd storyline with little explanation of what actually transpired.

The rumors are coming from uninformed 'sources' that are guessing at what happened. A rules violation is between the NHRA and the person fined. If you want drama watch the Kardashians.

What drama? Drama is NHRA not saying anything.report the details of violation, no drama, now we know ,It's done.I can decide whether to support the team or not, based on how they operate.

I would like to know exactly what happened as a fan. Just like when there is a malfunction at the starting line or other mishap, what was the cause. On the other hand, it is up to Gary or Steven to put that info out. If they choose not to, that is their right.

Why all the secrecy about what happened? If it was truly a safety violation, I would think NHRA should spell out exactly what happened so that nobody else commits the same error.
I can see two possibilities here:

1) If it was a true rules violation, it could be that they see no need for an official statement because any car not in violation of what's already written out has nothing to worry about, which is the case the vast majority of the time.

2) We don't know that they're being secretive with the people it's relevant to. I've had stuff happen before where issues are addressed in a quick drivers' meeting and it goes no further. Since this one essentially boils down to "don't break the rules," a more in-depth release probably isn't necessary.

Back in the good ol' days there would be mysterious malfunctions of the system at the worst time, killing the motor and launching the chutes. In frustration the system may or may not have been disconnected or may or may not have been disabled as a quick fix/temporary remedy. 🙈
