Of all the passes I've seen down a racetrack in just my 28 years on earth there's only a few I will remember forever. And number one on that list was Larry McBride in Houson in the late 90s when he ran 5.99 240 mph pus. It was awesome. He carried the front wheel to the 1000 ft cone and had about a 3 ft flame shooting out behind him.

Larry is the man. Go Spiderman!

Nothing in drag racing is more exciting than a Top Fuel bike under the lights in my opinion. I've always said to myself, "Those guys are living." because laying on top of that bike takes more committment than anything else I know of.

Way to go Spiderman!

i am now further convinced that the man is clinically insane:eek:....but that is bad @ss!!

thanks for the video Mike

I talked to Larry about those bikes, he told me stopping after a 240 pass is by far a tougher chore than making the pass! With that Huge back tire and long WB, it's pretty tough to spill on one of those unless you lose the Handlebars. Learning how to lean on the bike is just something that comes with time.

i looked at the time slip on DRO.....225 at the 1/8 and only 239 at the stripe.....he was friggan out of it early!!!

Larry stayed in it bro. I read over on another forum that the motor laid over on the top. Scary thing is Steve Mcbride said there is still more in it... .60s? I think we will see them next year. I hope the first race of the season at Valdosta is still early March next year, i'm deffs going to make the trek if it is.

You still at Disney Mike?

hey i watched the video again and you can kinda hear the motor laboring at the big end....if that thing is running 225 at the 1/8 i'd say it's got a low .50 in it at about 260 if it keeps the same numbers goin

and i'm back in chicago mike :(

That sucks, mind you I'd take Chicago over Florida!

Check www.cycledrag.com Mcbride said the track was so good it dragged the motor down, hey can't complain about having a track that good can ya? Haha. Its a good read. I reckon you're spot on if it kept the numbers up, Hogan ran a .98 at 250, but his bike was all over the track in the first half... Crazy numbers!
