Did anyone else get the NHRA survey in their email today?
I did, actually it went to spam but check those occasionally to make sure it is spam (and this was after I read it--kind of a silly survey).
It was from their new marketing partner and basically had pictures of 3 drivers and a list of questions (1-9== least likely to most likely) related to each driver. The first question was if you recognized the driver, and if you clicked no, it sent you to the next driver.
The three drivers were Dixon, Tony P and Ron Capps.
The last question was to rate your favorite Funny Car driver, then your next fav, and then your third fav.
this was interesting to me.
Right. So they send out at least two different surveys. The one I got had a pic of Tony Schumacher in it, asking the surveyee if he was known, a few opinions about him and then went on to ask for a rating of your top three nitro-car drivers (no, neither Pro Stock car or bike included there).

That survey can be found at https://www.take-survey.com/tma/nhra10.htm and if it's not cookie driven I'm sure anyone can access and reply to it. Lori, if you still have your survey-e-mail left, can you check the link for the survey in there? If these surveys are accessible for all, maybe they should be passed around, it could help in alleviating the issues discussed in this thread.

Note that there is no provision for us dam' ferreners to have NHRA understand that not all hardcore NHRA fans reside within the USA.

Well, that is precisely what some folks on this thread are saying, Lynn. Many apparently ARE choosing not to watch by the looks of the declining ratings. Maybe you need to deal with the fact that some of us are not Force fans, just like you are apparently not a Whit fan...(seems to be a dichotomy here--I can't object to the copious amounts of Force coverage without being called a "whiner" by Lynn, but Lynn can trash Whit all she wants and tell him to "get over it"...hmm that seems fair...

And to cover your inevitable next retort, Lynn, NO I do not have a time slip from a fuel funny car, but if you would happen to care, I do have a NHRA Competition license that entitles me to go 6.50 in a car with doors and a wheelbase of 125 inches or less. And as far as time slips go, I have about 15,000 of them from runs in that type of car. FC? Nope, but I have been down the track a time or two and had some pretty good success over the years also. Some folks actually consider me a pretty good driver. But according to you, unless I have driven a Fuel Funny Car, I don't know a good light from a bad one...things that make you go hmmmmm. Not that it matters, but I also have won three Wallys, but before you ask, no they are not the gold ones from the professional class. They are the silver men from the lowly sportsman classes...you know, like Super Gas, where you have to wade through fields of upwards of 160 cars to win one. But that is of no consequence either, right, cause I don't have a time slip from a Fuel Funny car.

Ya know, if I had the money to hire Fast Jack and company to set up my super class car for me before every run, or if I could afford to buy Darien and Meadows for one or two seasons, even a no-talent sportsman racer with no FC time slips in my possession like me might be able to go a round or two. Stranger things have happened. Nuff said. Just got sick of all the "where's your time slip" **** and being called a whiner just because I don't live and die JFR.

Again more is being added than what I said. And good fo you on your wins. Also I love Whit I just said he is a whiner. And he is. I never bashed on the sportsman classes like you tried to insinuate.sp? I like all the classes and i'm not just a Force fan. I don't think there is a driver I don't like. It's just like someone had posted before, most of you here micro-analize everything!!!!!

I received it today also. I was shocked they were asking the fans for their input/opinion.

wonder why I don't ever get sent these surveys :D

I am a Force fan but the coverage is overkill anymore. Yes he is the name of the sport and usually good for some off the wall interview. But they keep going to the well too many times a show expecting him to save them.

Just thought I would post this for the ones who think I hate Whit

Micro-analize? LOL. Can't unring a bell. I think most would agree you were pretty clear with this statement:

Like it or not, Force is an icon of the sport!!!!!! So quit whining about it and just deal with it. If you don't like it, don't watch. Like i used to say when Whit started his cryin', WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!!

Do you people have nothing to do all day except pick apart what I post here? Get a job already!!!! Do I have "**** WITH ME" written on my forehead or something? The only reason you guys do this is because I'm a Force fan, but that's ok I can take it because I know most of you feel inferior to JFR so you have to bash them to death to make yourselves feel better!!!:p And as far as Ashley's driving I can almost guarentee that most of you on here couldn't do any better. And again, everyone is running their mouths but have yet to produce anything that will prove to me that they can do any better. It's just the same over and over and over.............BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH!!!!!!!!!:p

Oh, and I forgot to add: she is 2nd in points only on luck, it has nothing to do with her being a good driver.......................... Right experts????

Like it or not, JFR is the NHRA. Many people attend NHRA events just to see John and co. race. If John retired or lost sponsorship and had to pull out, I bet you would see a slight drop in attendance. JMO.

Now for the people who think Ashley is either a) winning on raw horsepower provided by Dean and Ron and/or b) winning by luck. She's second in the points! Guess which champ (from last year) who's supposedly a much better driver is sitting in 11th?

Okay, PJ... DITTO

only thing in e-mail from Glendora was a renewal notice... my membership expires 10 December. Hurry now, don't let it lapse. (only have it for the Audio Cast)

I am a hardcore JFR fan. Have been for about 30 years. Only thing I'll say about Princess' driving, is she's better than Papa was 3 years in...

But Papa has gone from funny and somewhat entertaining... (telling Steve:"It saved my But t" on diamond P and being a general goof) to being a 20 second rundown of sponsors. I'd like to see more of Robert, Jimmy, Hopsing and the John Medlen & Zippy Show. Plus more Grant, Chrisman, Team K, Terry H. Wilkerson, Bob Bode, Baca...

But then, I'd have to turn the TV back on... Yep, ESPN2 has lost me as a viewer.

d'kid

LMAO! How old are you, 10 or 11? Did it ever occur to you that the VAST majority of us, while we respect what your hero has accomplished, DON'T WANT TO SEE HIM OR HIS TEAM TAKING UP HALF THE RACE TELECAST!?!? That maybe we're interested in other teams, too?

It's just the same over and over and over.............BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH!!!!!!!!!:p

Especially from you, Lynn.
