Is it me or is there western swing not a big deal? Baseball teams plays days in a row. Football goes 16 games in 17 weeks (not counting pre or post season) heck even nascrap puts several weeks in a row together. I don't see why winning these 3 is any different than winning any other 3 in a row. With that said hell yeah I want Antron to win again but good lord can Page not repeat sweep the swing every 10 seconds. He tried, he really does and seems like a nice guy but whatever 1 or 2 ideas they give him he just repeats over and over. I guess on a positive side at least I didn't have to hear the c-down junk as much.

I agree as far as PP going on and on and on...

However, the ONE thing that impresses me about the swing is the differing altitudes. In a class like Pro Stock I think it would be an amazing feat!!

Have we hit maximum density? About to implode? From what it sounds like here- yup.

TV coverage of the races, TV coverage of the racers, TV coverage of the crewchiefs, TV coverage of the crew guys, TV coverage of the trailers, coverage of coverage....

Hell... I'm just gonna GO to the races

What if we were really watching a John Force Reality Show , and we all thought we were watching a 3 hour telecast dedicated to covering the drivers and teams of Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Bike?

How is that.....er.......how would that go over?

fair enough and a good point, although every track does have its own character, altitude and such. but with Denver being a completely different beast of its own its impressive just to do well there period

Did anyone else get the NHRA survey in their email today?
I did, actually it went to spam but check those occasionally to make sure it is spam (and this was after I read it--kind of a silly survey).
It was from their new marketing partner and basically had pictures of 3 drivers and a list of questions (1-9== least likely to most likely) related to each driver. The first question was if you recognized the driver, and if you clicked no, it sent you to the next driver.
The three drivers were Dixon, Tony P and Ron Capps.
The last question was to rate your favorite Funny Car driver, then your next fav, and then your third fav.
this was interesting to me.

I received it today also. I was shocked they were asking the fans for their input/opinion.

I'll put money on Bill Miller!!

Although I do watch most of the NHRA shows,I have been tired of the John Force part of the show for quite a while now.And if I'm correct,I'm sure they did the same deal with the mileage on the scooter last year as well.Frankly,I could give a rats ass about the scooter, and so would the average fan.I hope some newbie to the sport sure didn't think that was what drag racing is all about.

I would have liked to see something about Danny Gruninger. He's new in Pro Stock, and would have liked to hear all about him.

Like it or not, Force is an icon of the sport!!!!!! So quit whining about it and just deal with it. If you don't like it, don't watch. Like i used to say when Whit started his cryin', WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!!

So it's ok if Lynn has an objection, but NOT ok if anyone else has an objection?
Like it or not, there are other teams besides Force out there. If you don't like that, then don't watch.
I'm going to keep saying whatever I want.

I'd like to see a 3 hour show with the Dipstick guy swatting everyone in the pits who is upset that the scooter, Neff's trailer and Ashley's cat gets more air time than they do. If you don't like it "WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!!"

Pretty 'moronic" if you ask me, Lynn. Do your parents know you are logged on to an adult topic of conversation web site?

Nice!:) Are you telling me there is another team other than the Force team? You are correct, you have many other teams who are getting the trophies this year compared to 1 Wally for JFR. Keep on showing the Force Opera and let the other teams take home the Wally's.

Well, I personally wish I could watch it like it should be shown. Yes, he has been great and all that. I don't think people are necessarily 'cryin'--as you say. Most people just recognize that there are a lot of other very good stories out there, and if the best this production crew can come up with is what they did last weekend, that is very sad. Everyone should be crying. This is pitiful.
BTW--Whit didn't cry. He said it like he saw it and had no 'Holllywood' in his job as a professional driver. If you thought he was a whining on the TV, I am sure you shut off the show immediately. John Force has a ton of respect for him as a business person as well as a great driver BTW. I wish he was still out there. We need some of that back on the 'show'.

Is Steve still running with no Fuel system management also?
Didn't he try a two speed when all had gone direct drive.
Gary D needs somemore $$$ and he will compete.
Everyone that goes to the Big Show should stop by and thanks these guys for comming and keeping it form a 8 car show or 12 with first round bye runs.

Lynn did you listen really listen to Jerry Ruth( The KING).
He said she over drives the car more times than not but she is getting better.
BTW this is Nitro FC not bracket 1.
She has lost more finals on holeshots. It would roast most drivers butts!

Austin would have been all over Johns butt if that would have happened to them. The Crap would have hit the fan in the old days.

Same as I am sure Jimmy and Robert have to be PISSED that the car cannot stay consistant and fast.

If the advice to just 'not watch it if you don't like it' was truly done, there may not eventually be a show to watch. It is obvious fans and non fans of a certain team have had enough and want some different teams highlighted.
ESPN2 won't have a show if enough people are shutting it off, so be careful of what you ask for. It's all about money, and if there are no viewers, the will not have a show at all.
I personally don't think it will get to that point, and I hope it doesn't. I really want it to stay on, just quit the corny crap and pass the mike around some different pit areas. The marketing survey I just got today is either very coincidental or someone realizes that the viewing audience is tired of it as it is now. At least I am hoping so.

Well, that is precisely what some folks on this thread are saying, Lynn. Many apparently ARE choosing not to watch by the looks of the declining ratings. Maybe you need to deal with the fact that some of us are not Force fans, just like you are apparently not a Whit fan...(seems to be a dichotomy here--I can't object to the copious amounts of Force coverage without being called a "whiner" by Lynn, but Lynn can trash Whit all she wants and tell him to "get over it"...hmm that seems fair...

And to cover your inevitable next retort, Lynn, NO I do not have a time slip from a fuel funny car, but if you would happen to care, I do have a NHRA Competition license that entitles me to go 6.50 in a car with doors and a wheelbase of 125 inches or less. And as far as time slips go, I have about 15,000 of them from runs in that type of car. FC? Nope, but I have been down the track a time or two and had some pretty good success over the years also. Some folks actually consider me a pretty good driver. But according to you, unless I have driven a Fuel Funny Car, I don't know a good light from a bad one...things that make you go hmmmmm. Not that it matters, but I also have won three Wallys, but before you ask, no they are not the gold ones from the professional class. They are the silver men from the lowly sportsman classes...you know, like Super Gas, where you have to wade through fields of upwards of 160 cars to win one. But that is of no consequence either, right, cause I don't have a time slip from a Fuel Funny car.

Ya know, if I had the money to hire Fast Jack and company to set up my super class car for me before every run, or if I could afford to buy Darien and Meadows for one or two seasons, even a no-talent sportsman racer with no FC time slips in my possession like me might be able to go a round or two. Stranger things have happened. Nuff said. Just got sick of all the "where's your time slip" **** and being called a whiner just because I don't live and die JFR.

Terry,
That is cool you have 3 Wally's from sportsman class. My daughter is in Denver for her final trip to the Jr Nationals (she will be 18) and has hopes of getting her first Jr Wally and I wouldn't care if it was paper mache, it would be so awesome for her. What class do you run in? Have you been to Topeka or KCIR ever?
Not trying to derail this thread, but wanted to acknowledge you achievements!! Good job to you~~~
btw, I agree that viewers tuning out of the broadcast is what is happening. And there are more races on TV than ever, and this is a shame. I am still crying and whining I guess!!
