Kelly, glad you are enjoying it. Just want to prove that chivalry is not dead, only dangerously dormant! IF (in deference to Tom Burgess) the Big 12 champ game comes down to Texas-NU, what's your pick on that game?? (Just tryin' to drum up a little love for the Huskers, here) or will you be unable to focus on anything else until the Michigan Ohio State game is over?

Kelly,

Definitely understandable, I'm just startin' to feel a little lonely up here in Huskerland!

LMAO! Y'all are cracking me up with the OSU thing. I think it's my problem.....not yours. :p
Well, ya see Kel it's like this: Ohio State is the one that's actually had a recognizable football team more than once in the last 50 years hence they're commonly known as OSU. It is common, however, when writing on the message boards of the great InterWeb to refer to the Buckeyes as tOSU which indicates "the" OSU. Perhaps you can lobby the other Maters to start using the "t" in front of the "OSU" so as not to confuse you further.

In the world of college football Oklahoma State is now, and forever will be, playing 2nd fiddle to The University Of Oklahoma regardless of what few games they might win here and there and thus should be referred to simply as Pokes, Aggies, or Cowlovers.

:D

Boomer Sooner!

Hi, Tom! Sounds a lot better than sitting in front of the tv! Have a great trip and let us know how it all turns out!
Yeah, I can hardly wait! I missed the Vegas II race for the first time in about 5 years due to the closing of the store I was managing. Now that the closing is over with (as of yesterday) it's time for a little vacation before I jump in into the great job search. What better way to celebrate unemployment than a trip to Vegas, lol!?!?

LOL! That's more like it... no dancing in the endzone before the score!

I'm going to have major difficulties picking which team to root for if it is indeed NU-UT. Ordinarily, cheering for a Texas opponent is natural for me but in this case I'm going to have to wait and see the potential BCS matchup implications and try to determine if the Bugeaters would actually have a chance against their opponent-to-be. I think that Texas has the potential to beat anybody if all their cylinders are lit but I'm not so sure that's the case with NU. I just couldn't stand to see the Big 12 embarrassed again as happened in the NU/ThugU game or that other one a couple of years ago that I attended but refuse to mention. :D

Well, Tom, I have to agree with you about the Horns potential to play better against the tougher teams in the bowls. Texas IS a better team than NU at this time--we're getting there, and Callahan is doing an excellent job of building what he wants, but we just have to be patient here in bugeater land. Not to discount the sooner's chances of being there, but if Texas is in the champ game, I would agree that they would have the best chance in the big time bowls. Hell, we're just happy to be bowl eligible here in huskerland! Amazing what a big dose of reality for a couple of years will do for fans' expectations, huh! Nevertheless, we still manage to fill Memorial Stadium to the brim for every home game! We've had a lot of fun with the Michigan-tOSU (I love that one!) game and back and forth with some of the big 12 stuff....this is fun..

Keep in touch and have a great time in Vegas this weekend--I'm jealous

It's been a bizarre year all around the B12 this year, that's for sure! Between Mizzou making their run, the TexAgs losing by 1 point at home 2 weeks in a row, Baylor winning some Conf. games, our screw-job in Oregon, and the Horns getting beat by the Purple Puttytats, who knows what's going to happen next?

Kenny
I really don't think you should be too concerned about your armadillo stew (excuse me ... so called Wolverine stew).... I'm sure you won't have much of an appetite after the MICHIGAN victory Saturday. Maybe you can just munch on buckeyes. Are those things even edible? :p :D
Two days! Just two days left at number one! Enjoy it now. It ends Saturday!

GO BLUE!!!

Dave,
You are so funny!!! It is only gonna get better come Saturday night as the
OHIO STATE BUCKEYES continue to be #1.
So get ready for your stew!!!:p

Kenny/Teri

Just in case you would like to sing along Saturday:

Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to Michigan
the leaders and best
Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to Michigan,
the champions of the West!

Don't worry if you don't know the words right away. There will be plenty of chances to hear it!

GO BLUE!!

I would rather swallow my tongue than sing your silly song!!

BUCKEYES #1

I would like commend coach T down there in buckeyeville. Has has raised the test scores for the players up to a 20. In 3 more years he hopes to have them be able to recognize all 26 letters of the alphabet. <insert rim shot>

I'm a stats junkie.

Here's an interesting note
Here are the top 10 teams and what the record is of teams they've played as of now. The number in () is how many ranked teams they will play this year. I must say Ohio states is very unimpressive and Florida's is WOW!!!!! I think I have to quit hating usc also as thats a pretty healthy record too.

1. OSU 55-63 .466 (3)

2. UM 63-55 .533 (5)

3. Fla. 66-39 .628 (8)

4. USC 52-40 .565 (6)

5. ND 55-48 .533 (5)

6. Ark.* 49-52 .485 (4)

7. WVU* 44-45 .494 (3)

8. Rut.* 44-43 .505 (5)

9. LSU 54-46 .540 (5)

10. Wis.* 57-61 .483 (4)

* Indicates that this teams has played one Div.1-AA so far this season.

more stats

all time series record is.......UM 57-39-6.

Out of Michigan's 57 wins, a total of 27 were SHUTOUTS.....with the last one being a 28-0 win in 1993. OSU has shutout the UM a total of 9 times, with the last one being way back in 1960.

How great would it be to shut them out again

Those BUCKEYE boys sure can play football!!!:p

sure as long as the plays aren't to difficult. It was genius for tressel to use cartoon characters and happy barney like songs so that they could remember and follow the plays :)

Morning, Dave! Glad you liked it! Just found out last night that our "regional" broadcast of the NU-CU game is being pre-empted by, you guessed it, Michigan-Ohio State! Now along with 23 other channels carrying the game, I can watch it on the channel that was supposed to be carrying the husker game. I know the Michigan-Ohio State game is a big deal, but come on, please throw us "lower eschelon" teams a bone, ok? What do you think Dave?, Teri?, Kelly?
