Sorry about the 'Horns loss. The loss of McCoy sure had a major effect. Did you happen to watch the Huskers? Quite a game. We tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory numerous times, but the last drive for a score was kinda impressive. In retrospect, I still think we need to explore that first half only deal for the Texas NU game. We certainly seem to have some second half issues we can't seem to overcome.

I watched a little of the Nebraska game. What an exciting game for you guys!!! Hopefully we can wrap it up against Texas A&M to clinch the Big12 south. Losing McCoy so early in the game REALLY hurt everyone on the team mentally!!! Jevan Snead is a good quarterback, but he has only played 1 quarter of 1 game, so to be thrust into the spotlight was tough, but the loss cant be pinned on him. Texas' secondary was HORRIBLE and gave up a ton of passing yards that shouldnt have been completed..."IF" McCoy had come back in the second half I believe Texas would have pulled it together. I dont understand why Mack Brown didnt let him come back in the game after halftime...he was ready, but Brown held him out...Heck we have a bye week this week so he would have been able to rest up before the Aggies and we "probably" would be sitting #3 getting prepared to head to Kansas city to play you guys!
Congrats to your Cornhuskers for clinching the Big12 north...hope to be playing you guys again soon!!!

Hey, Tim! Who do the Horns have this weekend? The Huskers have Colorado, and we have had some trouble with them in the past. This would be a good time for the Huskers to put together four quarters instead of two or three. Since you Horns won't go for the one half playoff game deal, I'm sure we will have to bring our A game to be competitive with the Horns in KC. (by the way, I don't think there's any doubt that you guys will be there) Let me know who the Horns play this weekend and what time it's on and I'll be watching and cheering. Whoever thought I'd become a Horn fan by osmosis! Best of Luck to the Horns this weekend. Oh, that's right--guess there is one other game of interest to some--something about Michigan and Ohio State???? or so I hear!

Obviously I'm enjoying all the hype big time. This is exactly why I like college football better than pro. It's about the players, the pride. Heck just look this thread lately. It's been a blast! Not that college football hasn't turned into big business ... it has. However I just think there is more spirit for the game. There are so many GREAT rivalrys other than MICHIGAN and that other team. Most of these kids won't even make it to the pros. This might be it for them.

Tim and I are having a ball with the Texas-NU thang also. I have to admit, since Nebraska's fall from National prominence, I'm enjoying watching other teams a lot more! I certainly am lovin' all the Michigan-OSU talk back and forth. It's fun and I have to admit, I'll be watching that game like just about every other football fan in the US. And I agree, this has been a really fun thread with just good humor and no malice back and forth...best of luck to all Michigan and OSU fans! May the best team win...now I gotta get back to getting ready for the devastatingly exciting buildup for the NU CU game Sat--tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife

Terry you nailed with the "no malice" remark. There's no need and that's one of the reasons this has been such a great thread. I have to give credit to my osu counterparts in this thread. They are a class act. Gosh that hurt!!

My best friend is a HUGE osu fan. We have a small wager. Loser (him) has to buy a coffee mug of the winning team (MICHIGAN) and drink out of it every day at work until the winning team gets done playing the National championship game. We also have to have photo verification (drinking out of mug) sent to the winning person to post up at work for bragging rights. Lastly the loser must call the winner at the end of the game as a sign of good sportsmanship. We didn't want the winner making the call. Thinking that may come a crossed as rubbing it in.

It should be a good game although Michigan winning 42-0 works well for me too.

Regardless It'll be nice to have the Big Ten win another Championship this year. It'll just be even better that the trophy will be here in Ann Arbor.


We already yelled at a guy at work today. He wasn't paying attention and wore a red sweater, with a gray t shirt under it. Thats questionable attire in a normal week but this week it is not allowed.

Sorry, Kelly, about the OSU thing--hadn't thought of it that way. Here in the Big 12, (or at least in Nebraska) we call OSU Okie State (without any malice, of course! How could I say anything negative about Okie State after the way they kicked the crap out of us! Good team, Good People!) So from now on, I remember to say Michigan and, and, and, what was the name of that other team playing against Michigan??I forget...
