My favorite Yuichi story was when he had a translator that would hang out on the starting line, then jump on a scooter to get the the top end to be there when he came off the track.
I told the translator I was going to ask what the difference was racing in America and what was the answer? Then have him aswer in Jaaonese.
He told me the answer, and I did the interview, Yuichi answered in Lapanese.
I said: For those of you who don't speak Japanese, what he said was. "The level of competition was much higher here but all the Americans were very accommodating, have welcomed me and I am grateful for the friendships."
For the next few races, I kept having fans come up to me and saying: I had no idea you spoke Japanese!
I have many talents that are not widely known.......
