I may not have written that clearly. There is a lot of land around Maple Grove that could be used for housing or industrial development. All the land is relatively inexpensive for the region. That means an owner of the dragstrip can get more for the dragstrip as a business than they could get by selling to a developer. In other areas, a track owner could get a lot more by selling to developers than by selling to someone who wanted to run it as a track.

I would have to agree it is the perfect location and the area is booming.
My money would be warehouses on the north side of I70, housing on the south side, and then around Newark. I wonder if that proposed "Far East" project that ODOT has will go as far as the Rt. 37 exit?

No. Only 2 that I know of were bought on land contract. The others were all cash. I was told everything other than MG and VMP are paid for.

Except for Darrel telling Richard Freeman that the IHRA had been sold, I don't think anyone has mentioned anything about it being sold, so my guess is it hasn't been. My guess is the seller's take on what it is worth is a lot higher than what any potential buyers think its worth.Was the OP's question ever really answered?
