I've got an novel idea, why don't they just use stock factory body panels? Make the car/tires fit it instead of building all new expensive panels to fit the car.

I could be wrong on this, but I think over time the carbon panels are cheaper to mass produce. That was one of the changes to the current generation NASCAR stock car.

6.8's to 6.9's around 200mph.
