I met Don many years ago, I was a kid, and this was before everyone knew who he was as a huge team owner. I recognized him walking past us and said hey there’s Don Schumacher. He heard me and stopped and shook my hand, and I talked to him for a good 10 mins. He gave me the extension to his office and told me to call him anytime and we could finish our conversation. So I called him one day many months later and he remembered me and we talked for half an hour or better. Years later he introduced me to Evan Knoll. At this point I was big in to diesel truck pulling, and there was a video on YouTube of a pull I had got second place at the week before, and Evan had commented on the video congratulating me. So to say I was shocked when everything with him went down was an understatement. But all those years later Don would always remember me, ask about my family and life, and just bs, he genuinely seemed to care, he was a great dude.

IMO if that were the case, her youtube interview the other day i think would have gone a little differently.
lets say, i think her topics would have not included PSB, her recent test on one, and her comments about trying to figure out '27.

the year when clay won in chicago, denver, and st. louis with kaylynn doing the clutch, that was a fun team to watch.
they ran with the big dogs, and more than likely on less funds than the big teams. the recipe was there. it's really a shame
to watch them lose it, and now have to make changes.

All those "kids" as Clay called them really had the chemistry. Not a lot of experience but the desire, most of them came from the Doug Stringer Mike Kloeber team. I think just about all are gone now.

In Rob's youtube video My Last Race with Shawn Reed he says "I got a call after Shawn announced he was going in a different direction. I'm going to go check it out and let you know where I land, it's going to happen pretty fast. It's going to have to be a pretty quick turn around on a car I don't know a whole lot about but maybe I can smooth some things out and make this thing a contender". With 6 races to go and looking at the standings there are only 2 teams that realistically would have made that call. Justin Ashley or RWR.
