Remember when??? (7 Viewers)

It took Amazon 7 years from when they went public to having their first quarter showing a profit. It took Google about 4 years. It took Facebook almost 15 years to show a profit and become EBITDA profitable.

Others, like Pets.com flopped. Granted, these were publicly traded companies but I maintain ones that aren't can face the same cash flow challenges. The well ran dry, investors balked, ad revenue shrunk or disappeared.

Cuttel I think had a plan (the specifics of which aren't really important to us here that weren't invested directly), but apparently the cash flow didn't occur as planned. If this is the case, and I suspect so, it's a risk many businesses take. As to why the cash flow didn't happen, that's a different story; time will tell and that's what we've been waiting to find out.

lot's of folks in today's world spend it before they get it.
Like Uncle Sam, LOL

you didn't strike a nerve. you showed that you are a typical keyboard ******* that sits all day looking for a chance to throw out a comment towards IHRA to make yourself feel good about yourself. So how many races did you attend and compete at this year? and I don't mean computer ones? you're the type that comes on these message boards and bitches about everything that you have nothing to do with from what I see and read. you criticize NHRA, you complain about tv coverage, you critique racers and of coarse throw out stupid comments like "how bout that ice" when you NEVER received a bag much less are owed money from IHRA. People like you are the problem in this world. all you do is criticize instead of being positive . you would rather laugh and make jokes about failure than cheer on success !

5 and I attended 4 and was 4th in alky fc points. I got PAID from every race I went to this year and last! did it hurt drag racing AFTER the shut down , YES! BUT it showed racers want an alternative to the other sanctions so bad that they were all willing to take a risk in hopes it would go on. If something new comes along, and you feel it would be a better alternative , you will never know without giving it a try!

I'll stand up for Paul -

I've agreed mostly with what you've posted here and elsewhere, but to be fair I think Paul was simply making a joke, something tongue in cheek, unless there's other posts he's made that show my belief wrong.

He's hardly a "keyboard whatever" you stated. Nor has he came on this board and "bitched" about "everything". He even apologized if the joke rubbed someone wrong.

I've not always agreed (but often do) with Paul but I think this attack is wrong and over the top.

Methinks you doth protest too much here.

Well said. With the collapse of the IHRA many people here have been poking sticks into hornets nests for various reasons. And rightly so.

seeing how you know exactly what to do, when is your series starting up? there are so many of you on this site that know how to do it, maybe you should all get together and be drag racings next best thing.
Payouts were to high to sustain a business model. He didn't have the gates or advertising dollars. Thats part of a viable plan for business, add the massive spending yes another part of the plan he didn't think out. Xai wouldn't be counter suing if they didn't have a valid claim like Xai dollars going into the ihra. Daryl good intentions are paved from the road to hell. He made sure that if anyone wants to find a vaiable alternative or invest in one they will have to think over and over. Thats the damage Darryl and his sham caused

Sure worked good for 8 races . As long as construction money came in no problem. It was growing. At Columbus Shawn Reed told me he was going to run Milan, I believe Tripp was going to run West Salem.
Really enjoyed the 3 I went to.

If it worked so well it wouldn't be in the situation they are in now. Daryl created a nuclear atmosphere with his poor planning. If he overcharged for subcontractors thats fraud my man. It's looking more and more like that if you follow the legal case. Knoll never had this many apologists. You must still be drinking the free ice and ferriswheel poolside.

So its on the internet so the accusations must be true?
No it doesn't have to be but space x isn't going to make that claim without validity. Yes they have gotten what the subcontract was billed for and what they are paid. He clearly violated that soon it will come out He was billing and sending to the racetracks just wait. Or will that be OK because he had good intentions. Crooks like that take away legitimate racing organizations and teams.

I did enjoy the Ferris wheel. Didn't get any ice.

Everyond cracks jokes about the ice. But it's a real example of the long known truth that: "It's the little things that make the biggest difference."

If you look at the actual cost to Darryl and the amount of goodwill and Great PR that resulted from it. You would be hard pressed to convince me that it wasn't a good investment.

That's the wild thing to me in all of this - it lasted less than 12 months. The first IHRA race was in July 2025, and the last one in June 2026. Less than one full calendar year!

Good investment he is out of business he had a business model that would have made enron proud. He played anti nhra and spent money the organization didn't have to me thats being foolish all the good will in the world doesn't make up how he's set the sport back with bad press
