yup, return trip. talked to someone in the know @ brainerd and was told it was very close to being announced.

Hopefully I can make it down again. already tied to talk the wife into going down around this time again this year and got some pushback... Haha!

Glad to hear it. Came from Texas for the first one. Will be there for sure.

the format was great last year, and it looks like the same this year. i wish they had room for top dragster.
invite 16 TS and 16 TD. i think the fans would like to see one other go fast dragster category. they might need two more sets of bleachers, one each side.

Can't wait for this race again in my backyard. Well, sorta close anyway. Went Friday-Saturday this year and wished I had gone Thursday as well. The place was electric! The best part was the temps were still low enough to enjoy being there an entire day. March is getting too hot in Gainesville now to enjoy the Gatornationals. Temps are usually mid-to-upper 80's and humidity close to the same. Not conducive for great runs, at least if there isn't any cloud cover. Since NHRA is not running the Winternationals in Pomona in Feb, they ought to move the Gators into mid-to late Feb. Still have no idea why they pushed the Winternationals in Pomona out to April, and yet still call it the Winternationals? I get it that having to tow cross country to the Gators from the West Coast and then right back to Las Vegas never made any sense, especially cost-wise, so I hope that is the reason for the schedule being the way it is now, but why not start the season earlier?

PS: Sorry to bring up NHRA schedule on a Pro Superstar Shootout thread!

i keep worrying about all the development next to bradenton facility, for both tracks/owners there. that major road just to west of track
was supposed to be the end of development, but the developers cried to the county, and despite a ton of local opposition, were granted
permission to continue east towards the track

They "bought" permission from the county, that's how developers operate.

request to those in charge for shootout this winter.
please play the anthem and fire the first pair as last note is sung. no talking. no 'Entry list?time to burn some nitro'.
just the anthem and first pair firing. talk after the burnouts. thank you.

Hey Mike, you are so right to be concerned. I am sickened by the nearby development right along SR64, the road the track is along. I made a mental note to look at my odometer between the end of development (for now) and the track, and it was 1.2-1.3 miles away. Total stupidity on the part of developers. Idiots will certainly buy homes in those developments without ANY due diligence as to the proximity to the drag strip, and once they realize the noise carries, they'll go to the county and complain that the track needs to be shutdown. All this going on right at the same time Victor Alvarez has poured a bunch of money into the track as the current owner. Totally sucks to know what is coming. This track used to be 5 miles from almost ANY development, but money from greedy developers usually corrupts things. Here are two links that explain what is going on. The 2nd link is actually a pretty cool compromise that the developer of the huge Lakewood Ranch community has proposed, which is to create a designated racer oriented section of homes closest to the tracks. People in that section of the community have to sign a waiver stating they will never object to the noise as they "chose" to move close to the race tracks. Just may work!

Yes.... Listen to Cleetus read the conditional stipulation that will be put into the deeds of all these new homes being built and agreed to by anyone who buys property in this area. Also, Cleetus has mentioned in other videos that if they do eventually get pushed out, they will not officially sell the race tracks or property until they have another new racing facility already built and ready to race somewhere else down the road.

Video should automatically start at the 14:00 minute mark:

the whole deal sucks. interesting about the stipulation regarding new home owners close to facility.
guessing cleetus and victor have already considered what might be possible in a new location to the east
if it came to that. maybe nearby cleetus' new home/airstrip?

Just a quick note.... The video posted above is over one year old. Both the drag strip and the circle track now have new development happening right up to their southern property lines. They thought it could potentially take several years before the new construction would get close to them..... but it's already there. It started happened almost immediately after the video was recorded.

Below are three images of the track and the area to the WSW from Google Earth. First is from 11/2021. Second is from 10/2022. Third is from 10/2024.
