in the pic from behind starting line, moments later we were still standing there just to left, watching next pair of TS pull into burnout box.
car in spectator lane pulled right out, and the car in tower lane could not get his car started. the car on starting line was waiting, and this 55 chevy?
finally got his engine started at last possible moment. he gunned it around the corner, chirped the slicks once thru water, and pulled right in.
spectator side had to pedal, and 55 took the win ........ i might be wrong on this, but i think the 55 was andrew johnson, who went on
to win top sportsman on saturday.

anyone have any info on DC motorsports/bode connection? will it continue? or did they get together for only the shootout?
seems like a potential good fit?

Can't speak to the Lee absence, but Salinas' was business related. His company is heavily involved in the clean-up efforts from the SoCal wildfires at the moment.
thanks for info mike. makes sense.

I heard that Mike and Jasmine Salinas had to leave to meet with a sponsor and it was more important than the race. There trailers were still at the track, and I suspect they got some testing in earlier in the week, but I don't know that for sure. As for Paul Lee, I don't know if he was planning to attend or not. He's based out of California as I understand so maybe two tows to Florida in a month was not practical.

Paul Lee’s funny car team is stationed in Brownsburg, IN.

good article bobby. i too hope this 'test' will remain @ bradenton. beer was up in price though. last year $7, this year $9,
but had the (2) for $16 deal as well. which was an easy way to leave a $2 tip for the gals serving
