That's Russ Parker from Salem, OR driving the High Bucks nostalgia alcohol FC at Woodburn Dragstrip. If you watch closely you'll see it was the steering shaft that broke. Thankfully he was OK and only lightly scraped the wall.

Happened to me the first time I drove my brother's S/C car. No idea how, as he never removed the steering wheel.

Had that happen in a sprint car once...checked it EVERY time after that!!!

Look again, the steering wheel didn't come off, the steering shaft broke.
