Paris Hilton gets 45 days in jail

This got me to thinking. If making an impression is what really matters, imagine the one Paris Hilton could make upon millions of people if, instead of trying to get out of paying for what she did, she took an attitude that was more like "People could have died and/or been permanently injured due to my irresponsible actions, and I'll take whatever punishment the court sees fit to give me." She could possibly even save lives with the example, instead of continuing down the "me, me, me" road.

I was at a friend's gas station in Jersey the other night. A woman pulled up asking where the air was, and we pointed to the box on the corner of the building. After her door opened, I saw crutches come out and she was really fumbling with them, as if she wasn't used to them. I'm thinking broken leg, etc, as I'm walking over, cuz I'd be an a$$hole if I just stood there doing nothing. When she finally made it all the way out, I saw that she had a leg missing from the knee down. I didn't ask, but my guess as to the most likely way this would happen would be an auto accident. May have had nothing to do with the drunk driving we're talking about, but I still spent some time pondering what it would be like to have to change every aspect of your life from then on.

She was so nice and appreciative of a little help. It also made me wonder if she was this nice before, how something like this probably changes all your priorities real quick and gives you a tougher, better character.

It's bad enough when something like that happens due to an innocent accident, without alcohol involved. I just wonder. If Paris had caused anything like that, would she still be trying to get her sentence reduced? Would she still be caring about herself first?

This reminds me of Vince Neil, Motley Crue's lead singer, who killed a guy while driving drunk and got a "token" sentence. What a joke.

I wish Paris would come to Topeka in a couple weeks and have someone hold her face about 11 inches above the header openings on a top fuel warmup.
