I don't understand the need for a rule in this area to start with. Hell, I can remember back in the day when the Pro Stock cars used to design/try different scoop configurations all the time. There are even subtle changes on a regular basis currently. I could BARELY understand a difference if the controversy was between two completely different combinations, but both bikes are V-twins so why not have whatever dumba$$ rule that is in place with regards to scoops be the same?
Like I said earlier, I don't understand a rule in this particular area to start with. And if what Matt said about the surface area of the opening being comparable/equal to that of a Pro Stock car is true, then yeah, that seems ridiculous REGARDLESS of who designed it.
