NHRA we need changes NOW!

r. freeman certainly doesn't appear to be invested in this to watch the grass grow under his feet.
It sounds like a real possibility that Stanfield is racing in TF next year. Seems he is more likely than Enders at this point even though both are expected to get their licenses in the near future.

is the nhra ok with short fields? ....... maybe a few per year? how many is a few? ...... i don't think having to say 'he or she gets a bye in this round' plays particularly
well to a TV or live audience ...... when indy, nascar, and F1 host full fields and you don't? ...... your overall entertainment package lessens; what about
torrence fans expecting to see steve during the last few races? who is next? ....... $50k is $50k, what if nhra regulars attend ihra races next summer instead
of making western swing races? is that ok? ...... i don't think accepting smaller fields is healthy. you have a sports entertainment business model in place,
and now with competition from the ihra ....... IMO nhra should offer any incentives possible to maintain full nitro fields at the nat. events.
will short fields continue? yes, because the racers and the nhra are not in business together. costs are high, and payouts are relatively stagnant. not an easy solution.
Those very racing series you mentioned are pretty much closed to the public too. Especially NASCAR and F1. Indy Car is getting really close. So are those really full fields? Yes, top fuel may be short cars for now, but at least any of us can build one, show up and not get told to go flick.

Stanfield is running Pro Mod next year.

the DI winter series is getting big. DI reporting enders and stanfield will run all 3 events. scott palmer the same driving a 2nd J&A services car
with jim whitely ..... reporting 80+ entries for the first snowbird race, 32 car field ...... i hope they stream it.

Wonder if Antron gonna run again this year? It will be streamed on FLO Racing.

It's on FloRacing; main reason I keep my subscription up to date there

getting back to 'we need changes' title of thread .......
what would it take to get the purse up at the nat. events?
when the race has a presenting sponsor, there must be money given to the nhra? why can't that money go to better purses?
when the race doesn't have a presenting sponsor, the race still takes place.
you have a solo act (ihra) paying the same money to nhra filler cars.

Am I correct that both are starting 2026 on the same weekend?

IHRA has a long way to go before they can be compared to NHRA, I wish them luck

if I ever win that $700M PowerBall, I'll be throwing lots of sponsor money at NHRA (more so for alcohol and comp classes). One can dream, huh?

mark and rick. the subject of my comments was how to get purses up at nhra races. i was not comparing nhra to ihra, only pointing out
that at this time, they both pay the same to win an event.
They pay the same to win nitro. More in the other classes. Stock pays 5000$ to win, alky pays 7500$ to win. Ts and Td is 6000$.
