Can't say I have ever bought a product because of race involvement. Did buy a battery tender a couple of weeks ago and it was a Schumaker.

Oh and still have a bottle of "BRUTE" laying around from the Ron Capp days

not to call ya old, but sure it wasn't from the Al Segrini days?:D

Switched to AAA homeowners insurance back in 2010 and it has left me in an ongoing legal battle with them since then. Hopefully it will get resolved this year with our second and final court date. From this experience, I only do business with companies after a lot of research, not just who they sponsor.

My dogs get Canidae food. I buy Peak Motor Oil, most of the time, because of their sponsorship of the LODRS teams, particularly Dan Fletcher. I bought Full Throttle back then, liked it, and continue to buy it based on preference; though honestly if I liked it, I'd probably buy Monster based on their level of involvement with Supercross. I've always preferred a greater number of PowerAde flavors over Gatorade. I prefer Coke products over Pepsi, but I still never have seen a Coca Cola product with an NHRA logo on it here in all these years of various brand representation.

Really, though, I'm going to make the best choice of product, without sacrificing quality, that fits my budget at that time. If there's a great deal on another oil brand, for instance, that helps me stretch my budget, then I will go that route.

How about Yardley Black Label? "Some guys have it, some guys never will". I remember that from the Monkees tv show. Anyone else or have I shown my extreme age once again?

how about this for memories...

In the late 90's, I got the honor of having this job in my shop: reconstructing the top and framework for Monkeemobile #1. This is the one that had the camera mounts on the chassis and was used for most of the TV show's filming. As a fan of the group, it was surreal to be in it's presence, let alone get to work on it....one of Dean Jeffries' masterpieces

My 2001 silverado decided to mix the coolant with the oil recently. I spent a bunch(!!!) of money at NAPA and Oreilly buying parts and stuff to overhaul the engine. Both put sponsorship money into NHRA.

Also, I buy Valvoline oil since the Joe Amato days, Gumout spray (Leah Pritchett's sponsor).
I have a small bottle of BRUT Revolution that still has a little bit left in it.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now.

so every year we watch Jim Dunn attract multiple new sponsors......off the top of my head he's had mooneyes, penthouse, canidae,
grimeboss, tap it, USD, snickers, k&n filters, rislone, lucas oil, and now alo. (i only looked up 2 of these sponsors, the rest i remembered)
and i will try alo.........sponsors do not need to get into the winner's circle to be a successful campaign.
can't remember where i saw a TV interview with founder of Alo; the last thing i thought this guy would do is sponsor a funny car, but here
he is......it would be very interesting to hear the story behind his involvement with Jim Dunn and what he perceives are the benefits
of sponsoring a funny car in the nhra......and at what dollar level is he involved at (i know we'll never get that info).
lately it seems winning does not ensure longevity....diehard did not come back after a championship.....castrol & ford walked from mr. nhra,
and he had a tough time replacing them, now alan johnson is looking and so far nothing.
i love even these one race deals such as the taylormade deal with head racing.....hope to see them back again; in fact he should have
taylormade again @ brainerd which is in the middle of golf heaven; the promotions possible at the area courses in the week leading up
to the race would be endless.....taylormade funny car sitting beside clubhouse or 1st tee or 18th green....or even better set up
a taylormade demo day on mon/tues/wed prior to race......have car sitting next demo tent....have drawings for race hospitality tickets
