NHRA Adjusts Rev Limiters

Exactly. Like land is free and the sport is overflowing with paying customers....Not to mention that Pomona, E-Town and Maple Grove would all ass-out because it is what it is and there aint no more...
The Jersey and Pennsy tracks are my 2 faves......I just wonder why they think that if Scott Kallitta had his crash on a 1000ft pass instead of the 1320, he would have survived?
They developed the parachutes to slow them down, then 2 stage chutes to keep from hurting the drivers (Garlits' retinas popping for instance), carbon fiber brakes, etc. But if the top end was free of equipment and some better barriers were developed (the catch net has been made better after Doug Kerhulas' bad incident) we could go back to 1320 and see some come-from-behind wins that were squashed with the shortened racing. Soft walls have made NASCAR safer, why not build a top end sand pit with styrofoam?

Yes there are better ways to deal with it.

How about building/ tunning the motor in such a way as to NOT blow up .
