I think the 2013 changes are needed. Won't repeat appropriate comments made by others in this thread. Comments made to me at Indy by one of the PSB crew chiefs:
1. Move everyone to 2 valve is best rather than allow everyone 4 valve. Moving to 4 valve would be too costly for the rest of the field.
2. While Harleys do have an advantage, it may not be as big an advantage over the Hectors as everyone thinks. There have been several races this year where the Hectors performance was equal to the Harleys and then on race day one or both of the Hectors had a red light, late light or equipment problems. By now the Hectors should have won several races.
3. Hectors have figured out something on the Buells that the other have not. Thus, their performance is consistently better than the other Buells.
Given where we are, I think NHRA made the right decision for 2013 to even the playing field.
By the way, my preferred classes are PSB and PS. I like the fuel cars as well but prefer the others because they are the best combination of driver AND tuner.
