Yes, it is a 385 Series based engine. When they ran in A Fuel, that was the highest Nitro class that the engine was allowed in, because it did not have the stupid bore center rule. A few years later, the Heritage Series allowed the 429/460 engine in NTF and NFC, and they moved up a couple years later.Chuck, what about the Ford engine in Pat Austin owned Ford Mustang nostalgia F/C? Seem to remember the Austins designed it years ago, & NHRA didn't approve it. This same engine ran in the A/FD car they ran & now the funny car. I think it's based on the 429 Ford Shotgun motor.
I was wondering if any full-time teams will create a TAD/TAFC team. This format would be great for Angelle Sampey or Anson Brown.I wonder if any part time TF/FC teams will step back to this new combo in the alcohol class.
I can see that happening.I was wondering if any full-time teams will create a TAD/TAFC team. This format would be great for Angelle Sampey or Anson Brown.
I think Jr. Fuel Dragster and Jr. Fuel FC would work right now, even with alky cars in the mix. To me, Jr. Fuel including alky makes more sense than Top Alcohol having nitro burners. If the class eventually becomes all nitro (NOT something I'm hoping for since blown alcohol has always been my favorite class), it could be rebranded as Jr. Fuel.
I wonder if that would create more cars and interest?
Good to hear a familiar voice in the towerI love the Alcohol Cars. Testing yesterday 6/13/2025 for this weekend's Div 6 regional.
The car is running pretty good, not bad.

5.11 today
I saw that and thought I wasn't reading the results right. And to think I could have been runner-up at that race in my Dad's old 2000 Buick LeSabre.Nobody mentioned only 1 TAFC showed up.
What’s wrong with going to the races for the sounds and excitement??? I typically go to 2 national events each year. I see tons of young people there. All very excited to be there. It doesn’t matter why you love drag racing. I have no understanding of a top fuel engine. But I love to watch the teams between rounds. Going to a Drag race is a unique experience. And it’s not just for gear heads. BTW- crowds at most races Ive been to lately have been large. Epping on Sunday was packed. Seattle last year was packed.Randy
I totally agree with you "KID" just look at the average age of the members on this site, 70s. I think I am one of the senior members. drag racing has lost the younger generation due to the type of cars they drive today. many of the younger kids don't know what end of a screwdriver to use let alone build or race a car. They go to the races for the sound and excitement. not the competition, and it is only going to get worse. I have said on other issues to build a track today is a bad idea unless you plan on running it like a circus and not true drag racing. The GOOD old days are gone for ever.
