Besides the fact that it's too easy to joke about his last name, it's pretty cool to see him break through for not one, but two wins in 7 days. There were some people being critical of him early on when he bought Edwards' stuff, I don't think there's a reason to be critical now!

Also, I like that he seems to be a humble person and (I know some people are going to flame me for this) doesn't thank some mythical being in the sky for his success on the racetrack. I would be the same way.

This exactly what Drag Racing is about. He bought a winning combination so he could step up to Pro Stock. It took about a year for his team to figure out these motors and now he's a solid threat for the championship. It's great seeing Chris, Erica, and the other new teams coming into this class, also glad to see NHRA spend a little more time on Pro Stock this last show .

That was damn impressive! And I guess if you are going to double....no better better to double against than Jeggie.

One I question I do I have...seemed he had a lot of blue smoke coming out of the headers on that thing from the get go....noticeable enough that it looked like the other cars had none...compared to his. Anyone know if they said anything about his motor maybe having an issue or was it just build up in the headers we were seeing?

Elite motors do the same thing, must something in the way Nick sets his motors up. Chris' s motors he bought initially were built by Nick so I'm sure they figured it out by the power they're making.

I went to my first drag race in 1955 in Kansas City at the grand opening with the original Drag Safari foursome. I went with a high school buddy who had a 29-30 Model A roadster with a flathead Cadillac and trans. He "DID" leave out the oil rings on purpose to cut down on the friction load....there wasn't a live mosquito within 5 miles!!! There was a lot more smoke in '55 than I saw on tv yesterday...maybe it was a rocker cover leak onto the headers!!!! Hadn't thought about that Cad powered roadster for many a year! MaC

Way back in about the same era we used to use castor oil in the fuel. Looked like we set off smoke bombs and tried to hide the car when and we made a pass...if we could get it to the finish line. I don't remember why we thought that was a good idea but we didn't think that long..

are the oil down penalties the same for the doorslammers if it's a mist coming out of the exhaust instead of pouring out of ventilated engine blocks??

next, after fuel injection, they will mandate catalytic converters for P/S:eek:
