I can promise you she did not take a dive... We are still in Texas tearing motors apart and her motor broke a lash cap and spit the int push rod out.... Its way too early in the year for that.....
It was a good race. I never thought there was any diving at all.
Congrats to you both, on and off the track, and best wishes in the future as well.

Why would any driver/rider endanger their own ride and sponsorship by giving a pass to someone on another team, regardless of their relationship? That "dive" comment was ridiculous on several different levels.
Everybody but the one idiot there knows that was no dive.Don`t sweat the small poeple.and thanks for giving us some of you valuable time.Some of us co appretiate you and other pros being on line with us.Thanks again.

Matt it is not a funny car! Then and only then it is ok to light up the loved ones. It is in the rule book files and past precedence is in your favor there.

Don't worry about the naysayers Matt. Sh*t happens! Just glad the bike and the Mrs. are both ok and will be ready for the next race.
Anyone can speculate all they want...Its fine...Its their opinion...I didn't "dive" for him and he didn't "dive" for me...He actually tuned me up.... I don't think you can predict a lash cap breaking in high gear around the 1000' mark...If so then that mechanic needs to be on my team...LOL!!! Just kiddin....Anyway no diving just racing...One day I will BEAT HIM!!! Thanks for all the positive comments about the fire...It was pretty scary...Its amazing to watch now after the fact...I was upset at the end of the track but most of it was about my bike...I was fine but not my bike...I just kept saying that over and over... When Matt ensured me he would have it fixed I was quick to ask if it would be this race...He said yes so I was alright.... He is a wonderful husband and all my crew guys, sponsors, and fans are amazing....THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! Ang Smith

Angie, I was pretty impressed with your efforts to keep the bike from flopping over as it slowed down, even while your leg was on fire. I know what was going through your head was being able to make first round.
Now that's a true racer, best of luck this year. I was already a fan but after watching that now I'm a BIG fan.

I agree with Paul. Didn't look dive-like to me. Just keep racing 'em....oh, and tell your husband to PLEASE help Doug get a win for our hometown!
