there's not enough prize money in nhra professional drag racing to be concerned about the little points, any points, or potential championships.
when the track is killer and the potential to break a big barrier is on the line, they will all go for it if the conditions are rite.
I disagree. If you're in a position to win a championship, then little points, all points, become most important. Nobody chases championships for the financial reward, that's a horrible financial model. That applies to all motorsports, BTW. Having said that, I believe the crews on pro teams get nice bonuses for winning a championship.

Did FC receive this same rev change? I can barely read on this phone. Not much sleep or rest the last few weeks. And I just read 65 posts. If so my money is on Hight. Robert Hight. But it will be Tasca because I don't want it to be.
I believe so; 7900 each. NHRA dropped the RPM (I believe it was from 8050 to 7900) for the 2018 season on account of big speeds including Hight's 339.87 pass at Sonoma the year before. Hight was most definitely going for the number in Dallas Q2 2 weeks ago - better short numbers than Tasca's 338 the next day - but the track said no.

Thanks Carl. FC runs first, and no one mentioned it.

This raises a question in my mind..

Did anyone hit 300 mph in testing before Kenny did it (in competition) in Gainesville?

Never heard it mentioned, if so?

If so I never heard about it. Here's a fact that not everyone knows - the first female to 300mph (1994, Rachelle Splatt, Houston). Here's a video of her running 300 at 1000' for the first time down under a few years ago. Interview at 1:55; her Aussie accent is so thick you have to listen carefully to understand her. Kind of a cute little thing, though.... :)

Scotty Finn the chasse builder said YEARS ago, NOOOO one will EVER go over 150 MPH in the quarter mile.
Larry Sutton---🤠
Don Francisco - Pioneer racer and SAE Engineer who was the utmost expert on everything Drag Racing at the time had an article in HOT ROD that "scientifically" proved that 156 MPH was it. Shortly after that someone ran 160+ and he justified it by saying that the parameters had changed and wisely said that there was no way to calculate it because Power - Traction - Aerodynamics & most of all Racer Ingenuity as well as Determination changes everything.

He also proclaimed that a dragster's wheelbase should be the same as the circumference of the rear tires.

If I recall (which is getting tougher these days), he based that on the highest possible acceleration being 1 G.

Chase and Roger only us OLD FARTS remember the facts from the GOOD old days.🤣

No offense Larry, but chute is different than shut from your earlier post. So I'm beginning to wonder who is on the morphine. I waited until an hour ago wondering why TAD has not ran. Today is Thursday I finally figured out.

Larry Sutton---Lions Smarter 🤠
PS: you made my day Ray

I can't find it anywhere, but I was told a long time ago that folks back in the early 1900's (horseless buggy days) believed that if you somehow were able to go 65 miles per hour you would suffocate because you would be outrunning the air you could breath. Might have been Larry Sutton since it seems he was around back then. 🤠
