March Meet

Guy, to my knowledge the original idea was the funny car rules in a 225" chassis with some modifications to make them look period correct. The class is not recognized by NHRA or the Heritage Series. At this point, it's a Bakersfield only specialty.

I didn't get to go to the March Meet because no dinero right now. I am 2 1/2 hours west of the track and they blacked out the bangshift feed for my area.

What stands out to me is the Bartone dragster's performance.
NTF has been running for what, 15 years now? The class has been at a somewhat steady performance level the whole time. Then, a minute ago, the Bartone dragster shows up and blows the entire class out of the water by a ton. The class has to be scratching their heads.

thanx MIke, I think I still want to convert mine to run nitro and do shows and exhibitions something like wat
John Lawson does in Chicago one mag and keep it simple just need a crew chief close to bama,

Paul, Bartone didn't just show up and thunder. You remember when he show up about 3 or 4 years ago the car ran very one run and then stumbled the next and didn't see to many win lights especially at Bakersfield but now they have hit their stride over the past year and "WOW"!

In the finals Champion Speed Shop was on a better run and lead all the way to the 1000' mark before that major league explosion. That was a big time fireball for a little SBC.

Mike, there is an NHRA Exhibition Rules Package (2010) for the Nostalgia Rear Engine Dragsters with blower restrictions, injector area, trans, wing area, safety specs, etc. The next scheduled N/RED show, that I know of, is a match race between the Utah Charger and Fighting Irish Top Fuel Dragsters at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City June 5-6, as part of the Summer Kick-off with Nitro Funny Cars and Heritage Series Groups 1 & 2.
