Maple Grove :(

Track temps under 60 are very difficult to get a hold of. Tomorrow Wil be interesting here with the forecasted high to be 54. When I left the track today around 3 the density altitude was -1270 ft.
Thank you Sir, for answering my post, sounds like there could be recording breaking runs tomorrow if the rain stays away.

I remember being in Houston in the early 90s when the temperatures dropped over 40 degrees during Saturday's qualifying. First session they were flying, but by the afternoon session the temps were in the 50s and every car that attempted to launch instantly went up in smoke. The day was over at that point.

Looks like the main area of rain is through the area now and just spotty showers remain. The weather man is saying they will be gone by noon, so I like our chances of racing today. One thing though, it's freezing outside. Where I am at right now it's in the upper 40's with wind, this feels like the 2012 conditions we had at that race. I am heading to the track in a little bit, fingers are crossed we see something today.

Good luck with the weather. I hope its not one of those days that the rain comes and goes all day and everyone has to sit around under any shelter they can find and freeze while waiting for some racing.
If there is no qualifying today what will happen tomorrow??

Hope ya get both sessions in today, let us know later.
(ps) dress warm.

I agree, why not bunch the NH, Englishtown, and this race together in a three week swing ? It should make it easier on many racers in travel expenses.

While it does seem to make sense to have races in the same region stacked together it can hurt them as well. Three races in a row that are so close would tend to draw from much the same crowd of fans and racers(sportsman). Many would have issues with taking taking three weekends in a row off work, plus travel expense to hot each race. While I suppose they could work the travel map a little better, there is a reason to not hit the same regions all at once.

PJ I think they have moved it several times. Impossible to guarentee good weather at any time. I was at Maple Grove last year and remember it being great.

Reblias says they might be going for two today.... Hope for dry, because the second session could be an earth turner....

We're on a weather delay right now for second round. Sitting in beer room that's heated.

What's low ET from Q1 ??

**** SPOILER ALERT BELOW ****

Brittany Force was the only Top Fuel car to get down the track, 3.72 @ 331MPH ... Robert Hight was the only one to get down the track in Funny Car with a 3.92 @ 329 MPH. Everyone else, and I mean everyone else, smoked them at the hit or early in the run. Pro Stock was the only representative session, Drew Skillman was low with a 6.50 ... For the conditions, not that great of a number. The only conclusion I can draw is that it is too cold.

And as I am typing this, I am going to GUESS that they are calling it a day as DRC is posting eliminations ladders ...
