Major JFR announcement at PRI show Friday, December 12th.

I was at PRI, and the word I got was it was a rumor, there wasn't an announcement scheduled, so that's why there wasn't one. Pretty simple.

I think we can call this a major announcement flop.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger keyboard troll!!

Well Dean, some of us actually attend races rather than digesting the PR spin. John Force said, at least three times at the 2014 World Finals, that JFR would have a BIG Sponsor announcement at the upcoming PRI Show in Indy. He also said, and I was there, that he'd be announcing the body manufacturer JFR would align with for the 2015 season and, as I recall, said it would be an AMERICAN manufacturer. On Thursday morning of PRI I personally called a JFR rep who said the announcement would probably be on Friday afternoon of PRI. Never happened.

None of the BIG JFR announcements happened, who cares, JFR will return in 2015 and if they make it through the 2015 season with all the cars and drivers John wants to field will be directly proportionate to the funds he wants to personally commit from his wallet. Nothing has replaced the departure of FORD and Castrol, nothing. About three, maybe four years ago, John said in a Street & Smith Sports Business Journal interview that his operation (at that time) cost $22.5 million dollars per season.

And the candid photo of John and Morgan was published in Speed Sport News, never much coverage of drag racing in there, but SSN found it important enough to run. JFR's deal with Lucas Oil is a tremendous opportunity for Lucas Oil Company. As Mr. Lucas said, he believes that John Force was responsible for the establishment of Castrol as a great American brand. The JFR/Lucas deal does not replicate or replace that of Castrol, but it gets JFR through the 2015 season and beyond with one of the best American brands, Lucas Oil Company.

If it means anything, Toyota Camry's are manufactured in Georgetown, Kentucky, and have been since 1988.

Doesn't really mean anything. If JFR runs the old Mustangs they've been running, a great cost savings BTW, without the word MUSTANG in vinyl, would it matter? It's still an American manufacturer and none of the nitro funny car bodies resemble any showroom automobile from any country.

Stop posting factual information, you're going to upset the JFR nutsack swingers!

I get all releases from JFR and at no time did they make an announcement three was going to be big news

Dean

I also am on the JFR pr list and you are right, it wasn't published publically. However, the info was leaked to me a little less than 2 weeks ago. The reason there has been no announcement is that there is a high-dollar LA lawyer who is holding it up and he, and he alone, has John's ear.

PS: I KNOW, (I'm not the only one) who knows what the subject of the announcement is, but am remaining quiet to avoid peeing on John's parade.

Is it possible due to contractual arrangements,Force has to wait until the calendar year passes before announcing?

Thanks Darr, I don't get to races and usually don't have time to watch every minute of the broadcasts (thank god for FF) so I was unaware of John's ramblings re an announcement. I was just pretty sure I hadn't seen a press release.
