Latest ND

Agreed! It was well done. I knew he had a very Italian name. I did not know that he emigrated from Italy. Another success story.
I admire great writing and, well, go Luigi!

I've always made a point of stopping at the Novelli pit when at a race, and they're really great to talk with. Got a burned head gasket from them hanging on the garage wall! :D

Mark, why do you say that? I'll admit, for awhile it was when it stopped being relevant in terms of race results. Obviously the days of waiting for ND to come to see the latest winners are long gone. But ND has become more of a weekly magazine, it's in color, and has a lot of unique features, including nostalgia stuff. I don't work for NHRA, but I am a fan of Phil Burgess' work and how he and his team have re-invented ND to make it a worthwhile read. You should check it out.

Times two. I've been getting "the Digger" since the early 70's. It has never been better. I sent an e-mail message to Phil Burgess to thank him and his crew for the new format. I'm impressed.

Been reading ND since 1969 and it has never been better. Phil has very deftly turned the Titanic and it now is very relevant and informative. As house publications go, I don't think you will find one better.

Motorsports, in general, are largely exempt from real serious journalism. Serious examination of problems in any sanctioning body are blunted by the reality that they control access to teams and decision makers and there is no "public interest" to force open these pathways. Since motorsports are all private concerns, media must cater to the racer or sanctioning body's needs or lose the press pass.

Must agree, the ND in color is a different animal than even a few years ago. I honestly used to just look at the last 10 pages for the new products and stuff for sale. But now that it's in color I find myself reading it (like Drag Racer and other mags) looking at the cars in the pictures and the nostalgia photos really take me back. One of the things they have changed for the better at the NHRA in the last few years....Good Job guys.

Too much advertising vs editorial. The only time I read it, is at the Gators, when it's free. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people who supply Phil with the nostalgia stuff DO NOT read ND.
