Larry Dixon

I myself have met Larry several Times , Class act ,, took time to talk to my son and it has made my son's day at the races ,,,,

so with that said I am all for Sam Adams ,,, would be great , and then good beer available at the track

Have a safe and happy holiday to all of the mater's out there
Hey Kevin have a happy holiday man. Maybe I will see you when I fly in to pick up the hauler in January.

Humm....The thought of whether they sponsor a team very rarely occurs to me. Not sure what would influence me to choose one over the other if they were equal in every respect including price, reputation etc. I think it would be the one that I had seen the most advertising (of all forms) on.

I guess that would indicate that I'm not a fan but I've been involved in drag racing since I rode my bike to the US Nationals in Okla City in 1957. I've raced everything from AA/FD to damn slow stock automatic.

Interesting .. I don't think that means you aren't a fan at all. I don't pick specific products based solely on their sponsorship, but if things are close to equal, I will tend to give my business to those that support the series I like.. sort of like shopping in the home town market instead of Wal Mart.

When Advance was on Cruz's car, I would turn in there before I would AutoZone.

I hope Larry gets into something for next year. He adds a lot to the series.

I think at least part of the sponsorship issues could be helped if Coke was more aggressive in activating their series sponsorship.

And John- I knew where you meant, and a giant HELL NO to this:

There are enough guys up there right now- and most of them actually belong there with something to do. Dude, that's like saying lets bring some folks that like playing with toy dump trucks out to a big dig and putting them out in the middle of the active construction site. Why does everyone that has never done it think that the starting line is the coolest party to be invited to? Other than the obvious- thinking that everyone is watching them in the VIP Zone. News flash- NOBODY is looking at the people that are up there- they are trying to look AROUND them to see the cars. The "guests" are in the way of the teams up next and the ones on the side are in the way of the paying slobs in the stands. Circulate them out? Buy a bleacher seat or buy a race car...

Martin, I very respectfully disagree on this point John is making. There is no other place like the starting line to "get" drag racing. If I had one oppurtunity to make a fan, I would put them on the line. It makes a throttle whack during warmup seem like a sneeze. I am not saying this is "THE" answer but it is the right direction. Our sport must be felt, smelt, seen and heard to be gotten......:D

Speaking of Dixon...........anyone heard anything about Kevin and Delana Harvick doing some kind of deal?

The very best place to view the race is the finish line. Go to the last bleacher in second and third round and see whose sitting there. You'll find everone who has been eliminated or didn't qualify. Those guys can go to the starting line or anywhere else and they choose to be at the finish. There's a reason and it's because that's where the action is.

John, I just had a wonderfull idea, you sit at the finish line and let everyone else sit where they would like to sit. After going to the drags for 53 years I have sat everyplace at the track and find I enjoy the starting line best. The last thing I need is someone telling me where the best place to sit is.

........... "I can pay $100.00 for 2 tickets and a day at the track on Sunday, or I can watch it on TV all the while knowing that $100.00 can go in the gas tank for work next week."

This is just 1 of 100 plausible explanations why folks aren't at the track.
It may not be yours, but someone has used it. And there are a lot of other someones in the world.
That's a huge part of the problem for most of America. The costs of living just keep going way up, wages haven't gone up in years.... Gas, Electricity, Groceries, etc. are way more expensive in our household than they were just 5 years ago...........

If you have to choose between two equal products, will you give any weight to whether one of them sponsors a team/driver/car in a series or not?
I always make an effort to support the sponsors of Drag Racing when there is a choice in products.

Paul you can sit anywhere you like including the parking lot because I don't really care. I was simply expressing an opinion and an observation not trying to force anything on you or anyone else. You should chill out a bit and get some of the Holiday spirit of peace on earth and good will towards men.:)
