There are so many rescue missions that Kallita Air and Doug's medical planes that are never known about, you would be shocked.
Plus Kallita Air also transports US military equipment and ammunition and have for many years.

I was wondering if someone would mention it. But hell, that’s WHY Mr. Kalitta started flying over 65 years ago! When others say “can’t/won’t/don’t.” - Kalitta says, “YES, if…” and “when do you want the plane there”?

Connie is also a hell of a business man. Years ago he said Larry I just bought a DC-10 from a Sheikh and sold the gold out of it for more than I payed for the air Plane.

I liked the time when some asshat walked into the office at Kallita Air to hijacke a plane. So Connie says ok follow me. He gets him in the plane then Connie proceeded to beat the sh*t out of him.
Shortly after that the cops came and hauled him away. That evening on the news Connie acked like it's no biggie.

Chris, what caught my eye was the stripes on the side of the plane. If you know the Kallita colors those are like a smack on the face. Lol 1st thing I said to my wife, that's a Kallita plane.

Kalitta Air rescued a bunch of Americas out of China when covid was just beginning. Kalitta Air is a cargo company... they (typically) haul boxes, not people. They showed pictures of the inside of these Kalitta covid flights and you could see they were cargo planes with seats installed on the cargo floor. Alan Reinhart posted here on Nitromater that he personally asked Connie about all these seats on his cargo planes.... Connie told Alan that he has a storage facility full of seats ready to go for situations just like this. Apparently, when you run a private company that is regularly contracted by the federal government you need to be prepared and ready for any type of flight the government might need.

That’s right. They used to fly an L10-11 in passenger configuration for like Apple Vacations on the point to point seasonal charter markets. I think the L10 was under on Scott’s company.

A couple of years ago, on the Smithsonian Channel, there was a show called, “Ice Airport Alaska”. They filmed at Ted Stevens Airport in Anchorage.
One episode covered the evacuation of Americans from China during the Wuhan virus. Their first stop was in Anchorage.
Kalitta Airlines was shown many times during the episode.

That's good to hear, Larry. Hopefully that will happen. I wonder if Mitch Kalitta is planning on taking over the dirver's seat from Doug in a few years? Or, if we will see any other Kalitta family members in drag racing in the near future? Isn't Scott's son Corey a sometimes member of Doug's crew?
