Of course if they're looking for someone who is already local, someone who has no bad habits and that they could mold (read rookie) into whatever they wanted then I'm sitting right here:D. I can be to the shop in minutes.

I don't know PJ, Do they make a pink firesuit with a TuTu? :D:D:D

PJ is already DQ'd. He's on the NHRA security watch list for all the other crazy ideas we've been coming up with. Shoot, he'll be lucky to get into a national event as a spectator at this point!!:D:eek:

if it gets me in the seat, I'll wear one.

I am a man of many disguises, they'll never stop me hahahaha

Besides its election season and I could sway the keyboard crewchief vote. and um hold on, I'll think of another reason why it should be me.........

Suprised no one suggested Mendy Fry.

Rapid has two nitro rides already. He needs a least one more.

-90% Jimmy

I'm still just plain sad for Scott and his family

It would be an "interim" driver to run until the end of the season. The person they pick will have to have a current NHRA Funny Car license. Since there is a testing ban, there is no way to upgrade someone's license or try someone new.

I can't wait to see who it is. I know the person they pick will honor Scott's memory. And they had better be ready for some practical joking!!! ;)

The only way Daniel Wilkerson will ever get see his dad get out of the driver's seat is if Tim joins the PGA tour, and that isn't likely to happen.

lol.gif

Mike Dunn is my age, and he isn't getting any younger. I vote for the old guys. Go Mike!

You couldn't let me down easier:D

Test me in IHRA, 2 shots at Milan and I'm ready to go (either that or I'll be shopping for new underwear)

As far as I know, the Norwalk "Night of Fire" is still on for early August (week before Brainerd)

Could they try and get in there as part of the show and make a few laps to get somebody a license?

Sorry PJ! I would love to see you in a pink firesuit and a tutu!!! Maybe when "Nitrogate" is over and you can do some testing someone will give you a ride!!!

I was wondering how you would compete at the races since you are "Anti-Countdown-Man"!!! heehehee!

Paul,

I have no idea if they would do that. The person they pick will run for the rest of the year. I have no idea about next season if they would put someone in there that is upgrading or what. Sorry, but I just don't know.

Connie will let everyone know what he decides, when he decides it! Like Jim said "It could be Brainerd or even Indy". There really isn't a time line set yet.

I have many choices in mind and I can't wait to see who it is.

Anyhoo, GO TEAM KALITTA!!! It's 5:00 here in Texas, so I am outta here!

Here's a quote:

"Oberhofer confirmed there’s an extremely short list of drivers being considered. Those not in consideration a source close to the team told CompetitionPlus, include those who sent in resumes before Kalitta’s funeral."

Good for Connie.

Some people are just plain stupid.

I was thinking Scott would want them to continue to race the funny car, once they figured out the problem. I know he is smiling down, with his thumb up in the air, go get them boys!

Anti countdown man has nothing to do with the races, just the championship. I would still want to go out an win as many races as possible

As for Norwalk, its a booked show and I believe the field is set already, however I would think they could find someway to add another car (maybe fc vs a kalitta tf) If that were an avenue they wanted to take

The testing ban is only at nhra national event tracks right? There are still inhra tracks AND national events

god bless the entire kalitta camp for thinking about bringing out the f/c again and in scotts name. a very noble thing to do so soon. who ever gets the seat will be a great driver and hopefully represent one hell of a great and classy team. r.i.p scott

That makes no sense, there has to be a process for someone to license or upgrade. Testing and license runs are two different things. I could understand that the lack of testing would make it tough on someone after the get their license, but even with that there still needs to be a process.

Whoever they are looking at with a current license would be a good idea, because there would be no learning curve.
