Is there a potential new class that could last? (6 Viewers)

I like watching them not just because they're different but because regardless of the fuel used they're still considered high performance machinery. I personally enjoy everything from the lowest-class stocker to Top Fuel. But I wouldn't call myself a 'diesel guy'. I do get your point and it makes sense.

I'm sure the idea has been run past the NHRA before and they decided the same thing you pointed out. Not enough interest to make it an actual class.
Sounds like they better stay out of that dome that Bob "told us" all about, LOL.

So let me throw two more out and see if they stick - a natural gas class and a hydrogen class.

I'm pretty sure I've seen what I think were natural gas Pro Stock cars back in the mid/late-90s, but can't recall any since then.

A/fuel Dragster as a class by itself, but less rules.
Unrestricted nitro % (to start) get rid of the pounds per cubic inch, and run all the management you want.
how about a form of this, and let them enter TF? maybe same w/FC? seems to me boggs nitro injected FC
might make a big show or two or more.

The problem I see with the diesel guys is the safety equipment. The trucks I see going really fast are on 4x4 chassis with insane drivetrains, the local farm kid and Dad building it. Most are going to weigh in the 8000 lb range, imagine NHRA specs to run 8.90 in an 8k vehicle ?? They run at smaller tracks in Ohio, safety equipment is a helmet.

Not even in the same zip code.
i know, but sometimes there are spots open, or some of the independents just can't get down the track.
in a short field scnario, there would be no byes, and the slower car would keep the higher qualified car honest.

Isn't there a few cars running coal?
I think I've seen it in Promod.
