I'm sensing some tension in the TAFC pits

I hope they're joking. Other than the Bartone car, the other nitro cars are struggling with consistency and probably will for some time. I remember how long it took Keith Stark and Robin Samsel to get their dragsters to run consistently.

i think AFC is great. i also think that TAFC is low on car counts in recent years as some have opted for PM instead.
lot of non-nhra big money PM racing going on out there.
hoping AFC will maybe eventually prompt more investment into this class. if rules do not change, tuners will catch up with BBB's performance
8 ATF and 8 AFC at a divisional? i'd drive and pay to see that.

Yes, the usual knee-jerk reaction, for sure. How about waiting at least for say 1/3 of the season to go by before making these adjustments instead of after these cars have run well for just the last race or two? Why did NHRA do nothing (as far as I recall) when the Gage Herrera bike was way quicker than everybody else's bike for a whole season or more?

Not sure about PS bike, but Gage was noticeably quicker than his teammate on an identical bike. In TAFC, A/Fuel is a new combo, I don't think we need to wait 1/3 of the season to make an adjustment. These cars are very sensitive to nitro % so we'll see how close the combos are after this move.

I'm not sure they need to start with adjustments so soon. One race with competitive AFCs and only 8 total cars showed up. Not exactly a representative number to start fiddling with performance changes. And don't forget, a blower car (Whiteley) has run 5.35/276 so it's not a nitro runaway at this point.

I'd MUCH rather see NHRA give a little something to the blower cars rather than take from the nitro cars. I know they're pretty much maxed out but perhaps a little more blower OD might help ??

I don't know why Gage was/is so dominant. His speeds are similar to the Smiths so equal power but that bike 60-foots like no other. Can't say why, although some believe it's the way he positions his body at - and after - the launch.

be fun to see what he could do on Gadson's bike.

When I was running my Kawasaki 1000 drag set up back in 80’s we built wheelie bars out of small chrome Molly tubing out to the max length at that time, very flexible, bike left hard as the bar’s acted like a long torque bar, planting the rear slick as the the front tire rose, the great part was it didn’t try to hop like shorter more stiffer bars, just a great hard pull as it launched all the way to shift into 2nd, I think you guy’s are on to something on rider weight location affecting 60 ft. FYI, I ran low 10 second times in the mid 130 mph range, had a great time👍😎
