It's good to see that some progress is being made in enforcing our laws but the "record levels" are almost laughable when you compare the number of illegal aliens living in the Country. Estimates put them at somewhere between 12 million and 22 million.
The "record level" of detainees this year is at 27,900 which is less than 1/4% of the low estimated population of illegals living here.
Politicians are finally realizing that the majority of the legal voting base in the Country are against illegal aliens and are trying to make a big show on how "tough they are on enforcing our immigration laws" for the upcoming election year.
When the level of detainees is consistently over 5% of the estimated population of illegal aliens and the detainees are deported on a regular basis I will get excited. Until then this is just smoke and mirrors by our elected "representatives" to placate the masses and get them re-elected.
