Before you start to feel sorry for Chris, just remember under the previous owner's watch, that track two NHRA National events every year from almost the day it opened. The first 4 and 300 in FC were set at that track. They had one or two NHRA DIvisionals every year. They had a NASCAR truck date on the road course. They had a World Of Outlaws sprint car date. Blah, Blah, Blah... That track was rockin' before the current guard took over. You don't mismanage a business for years/decades, and then decide everyone is just trying to shut you down. You also don't forego tax payments for years/decades, then try to cut a deal for a small fraction of what is owed. If the county would have cut him a deal, what is stopping him from doing again?
Word has it that Chris sold the land that Flying H is being built on to a group of owners. I sure hope that is the case. I hope he is in no way involved. And since Flying H is next to the land that Chris' I70 dirt track is on, I sure hope that does not cause problems in the future.
Chris also bought Columbus from the NHRA. He ran that into the ground, too. It sounds like the current owners saved it and have a great following.
