Harley's in the final......

no issues now, they had an unfair advantage before. Last year they had to fight their way back. I don't want to see any bike win every race but the Harley's are lookin mean right now.

I see twenty pounds in their immediate future...
Really? They didn't add weight last year when the Buell's dominated. Since they (HD and Buell) are all playing within the same rules, I highly doubt any weight will be added. It took a little longer than I thought it would, but the team with the most resources is rising back to the top of the class.

Exactly! There's not another PSM team that works as hard and has the resources that the Vance & Hines team has. They started out way behind last year with the rule change, but as Paul mentioned, you knew they were going to be right back up there pretty quickly. Good for them......the hard work is paying off!

Whether people want to admit it or not that team will be at the top of the class for as long as they race. Regardless of which bike/engine combo they choose. They are simply the smartest and most experienced in the industry. So I am not at all surprised that they are running so well...

Is that a fact??? Do ALL PSM's run the same rules??? Same weight, ?? Same cu.in??

As Brent stated, straight from the 2014 NHRA rule book:

Harley-Davidson (must be NHRA-accepted)
(up to 160 cid; 60-degree angle, 2-valve, pushrod) - 625 pounds

American pushrod V-Twin (must be NHRA-accepted)
(up to 160 cid; 60-degree angle, 2-valve, pushrod) - 625 pounds

Kawasaki (must be NHRA-accepted)
(up to 107 cid, 2- or 4-valve) - 575 pounds

Suzuki (must be NHRA-accepted) (up to 107 cid, 2-valve) - 595 pounds

The win was fair and square but it was the statement Eddie made a while back that the other teams need to work harder, he said that when everyone knew the rules were stacked in their favor, from that point on I stopped rooting for the H-D team.

Interesting that HARLEy pays the V&H for certain things. HOW many OTHER PSB teams get 'direct help' from a Manufacturer? NONE at least this year!
Add in the V&H also make Suzuki engines and they SHOULD be as quick a a Harley...... so far has NOT happened.
ALSO Suzuki's are tied with the ruls of'trans in case' and the Hrley Buels are NOT as they are seperate(trans and engine case) so if a Suzuki blows a trans it trashed a complete motor most times .. same as the Kawasaki. The 4 cylinder PSB will always be at a disdvantage no matter what rules and C'I. BECAUSE that are tied to 'factory case in transmissions". Several teams lobbied for'updated' heads and cases and was LAWAYS shot down BY NHRA(NO HONOR for RACRERS Association)
OK off the soap box(maybe, kinda sorta) to me a 2 valve v-twin still sounds like a loaded garbage truck hauling uphill, abeit they do run fastewr....

How does one consider "all equal" when one has 53 less cid, one has 50 more pounds, one has 30 less pounds??:confused:

A max cid, and a min weight for all makes. Quit handicapping a "PRO" category.

Bitch Bitch Bitch, Seems like some people are never satisfied. Use to be OH the Harleys have parts that nobody else can get.
So NHRA comes in and finely changes the rules to make them run different heads. It took some time but V&H was able to
figure out the new combination. Now V&H kicked ass, people are Bitching again.

I agree with Kenneth.
Just replace PSB with TF/H problem solved, plus TF/H is a lot more exciting to watch!

I was at the Norwalk Div. 3. Lucas points race this past weekend. They had a big Harley race also including TF/H
I saw a bike run low 6's at over 220 MPH on the BACK TIRE the entire length of the quarter mile.

I'm guessing that you also have issues with the Pro Mod class as well since they run nitrous, supercharged and turbo with different cids and weights

Pro Mod minimum weight at the conclusion of run, including driver:
Nitrous-assisted entries (910 cid) - 2,425 pounds
Supercharged entries (526 cid) - 2,600 pounds
Turbocharged entries (526 cid) - 2,650 pounds
