warning ! the following statement contains blatant sarcasm ...........

-> yes indeed, that new shock rule they instituted last year really buried this team. They've only got about a dozen or so wins ever since.

Yep,they sure have BUT,they lost the championship and are not beating cars by 3-5 car lengths either. Say what you want, the rule was clarified and they slip and slide like the rest now.

Say what you want. Slip, slide, whatever...they are still elite and are the premier threat to win any and every event for the time being. The championship continues to be within their reach.
When you are on the cutting edge of ability, talent and technology, you are also an easy target.

Having said that, I hope KJ see's the podium soon.

I have never said they were not competitive. If you invest what they have, you're going to be competitive. My point is,it's not as easy for them as it once was. NHRA clarified the shock rule and IMHO,it has brought them back to the pack. Take Jason for instance, what was it? a year between wins for him until yesterday. You say being on the cutting edge of technology,ok,if they indeed had some shocks that were high $$$$$$,let em go right? The problem is,everybody can't afford "cutting edge technology",so what do we do? The P/S field is getting smaller, why?,could it be the cost has gotten out of hand? Most teams have a sponsorship with a budget,KB Racing has KB's checkbook and a Summit sponsorship. They are without a doubt the best funded team in P/S,they should be competitive. I do agree with you on one point,KJ is LONG over due for the podium.

They are more than competitive...

It's an insult to KB Racing to keep insisting that they have bought their way to the top of the Pro Stock class especially after recognizing all that all of the top teams have similar equipment. From your presentation, you would thin KB had their trick parts confiscated and the sudden lack of performance was leading to a mysterious shop break-in. Love it or, lump it, Team KB is still at the top. To culminate, I'll point out that a lot of Drag Racing money has come and gone and few have had the success of Team KB, regardless of budget. Cagnazzi and the Johnson's aren't exactly on bracket racing budgets. Let me offer that the haves will have, and that there will always be have nots. The cost of racing has, and will always be, a means of culling the participants. If you want to race, find the money.
Additionally, it's an insult to the other top teams with budgets to suggest that they erroneously spend. At the end of the day, why not respect all for their accomplishments and let the end results sort out who's who.

The article confirms what I've believed all along,it was a smart move into NASCAR territory. I heard recently that they bought a tow rig from Roush Racing, used of course and saved some $$$$$ I'm sure. I don't know how much $$$$ he's invested in his racing ventures and really don't care, but to think it's not substantial would be wrong. Who knows, maybe the shocks they had came from Gibb's Racing shock specialist Ronnie Crooks @ bargain basement prices. As far as me not believing anything unless it comes out of Sugar Hill,I'm not stupid,I can see the obvious. How many P/S team owners have their own private plane, nuff said.

KB Racing's fans are happy they won yesterday.
People that don't like KB are naturally unhappy.
Can we let this go before it gets anymore out of hand? It's starting to feel like the old 'mater in this thread.

I'm not insulting anybody, don't call anybody names, don't get on a personal level with anybody. Why does it upset guys when an opinion is presented? I made the observation about how many aborted/bad runs they have made since the clarification and what happened to GA yesterday. Looks like he blew the tires off, that use to never happen. I'll say this again,I don't hate anybody, not even GA or JL,I'm just not a fan of theirs. I've talked to a lot of guys who know them and say they're good guys, fine and well and good enough for me. This isn't real life is it?,we're just talking about the goings on in P/S to keep it from getting boring, right?

Are you serious,it's just getting to be fun again. Me unhappy, quite the contrary,I'm as happy as I can be. I have a great family, good health (so far),retired and don't have to work. Why in the world would I be unhappy?,not because of the outcome of some silly race.:D

How many want or need their own plane? That's the basis of your argument? Koretsky, Cagnazzi, Jeggie, Gaines and others can afford planes if they have the same desire to fly as to race. Warren and Kurt are aware that they print money every day, I heard Warren say it myself.

It's not Pro Stock but, Kalitta has a fleet of planes, and plenty of bucks...how many recent championships?

Drag Racing is a tough row to hoe. Takes Brains and Money to win. Always has, always will.

I think it's okay for us to respectfully debate our positions. This is far from a bashfest.

Mike, I don't think you're a hater, I just disagree with your perception. I respect your presentation and hope you feel free to continue to express yourself.

I'm not necessarily right, I just think I am.:)

I agree it's not a bash fest and doesn't need to be. Just as in how this thread started, name calling and some said it's ok to have an opinion but no name calling. I'm not like you,I know I'm right.;)

alright somebody owes me.

I just wasted 4minutes and 78 seconds of my life reading this thread. Thats time I'm never gonna get back:p
