Greg Anderson Racing with Visor up? (1 Viewer)

Both Jason and Greg had that work ethic WAY before they ever moved to NC. Both grew up at the drag strips, both worked their ways to where they are today, and were given nothing. The only reason those Pro Stock teams are in Charlotte are to be with the NASCAR teams.

Greg and Jason are long time Charlotte residents, and they are based in Mooresville, NC, which is the Southeast, and the team is owned by a guy from Vegas, which is the Southwest. The only thing "Midwest" about their work ethic is where the checks come from...

greg's solo career located him in charlotte area (humphrey's? / other?)
jason's gibb racing career located him nearby.....they hooked up around 2003
with Ken Black after his partnership with George Marnell.....KB Racing started;
Summit joined soon after ......pretty sure that's close to correct timeline.

That is all correct Mike. When Greg left Warren's team it was to start his driving career with Humphrey Motorsports, he relocated from GA to NC. When I was referring to "Those" teams being located near the NASCAR teams, I was considering Team Summit, Cagnazzi Racing as well as Tasca.

Here's two good pieces, one on Greg's racing background, and their shop back in 2004........

Just curious, if you don't like Greg Anderson and / or the Summit pro stock team, why is this? My dad has the same side of the fence in that he doesn't like him. He feels that he is smug about winning or something like that.

I don't get that impression of him at all. From what I hear on TV he is always humble and thankful and has only good things to say about the competition. Always positive. And to me its cool that one of Greg's biggest competitors, Jason Line, works on his car and vice-versa.

Everyone has opinions, thats OK. Heck, I don't like John Force or JF racing, despite me not really having any good reason to.

Greg really impressed me at last years awards banquet when he got up and spoke openly about Mike Edwards late-season struggles and how he believes that the title was rightfully Mike's based on his year as a whole. Very classy and humble. He earned a lot of off-the-track respect from me when he did that.

That being said, change the paint scheme on those cars! It's antiquated and ugly as all get out! :D

Nick, Bill, or whomever,

I respect the hell out of Greg Anderson, Jason Line, and John Force Racing. And I would like them all out in Round 1 each national event. I have a high passion for this business/sport which means I am a fan.

I like the Johnson's in Pro Stock and the Anderson/Line combo is really really good. Maybe a bad example since the Johnson's may have seen better days. Respect and Fan are 2 different terms. It's Redskins vs. Cowboys. Yankees vs. Red Sox. Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes. Lakers vs. Celtics. Oklahoma vs. Texas.

I would think the sport would prosper if everyone in the stands had a love or hate relationship with each car going down the track. That would be good.

I pulled against Yates the same way with him and Maskin.

I'm just a fan. Go tell a Redskin fan, "Heck it's hard not to like Dallas and Jerry Jones cause he's a great owner."

I don't have anything against Greg Anderson. Guy is smart and talented as all get all. NO DOUBT. I just don't pull for him on Sundays.

It's not Socialist Drag Racing? I don't think so at least.
