Great CompPlus article discusses NHRA (2 Viewers)

I thought Bobby wrote an excellent article about the NHRA. Pretty timely IMO as well, since I'm getting really tired of the constant anti NHRA barrage on social media, which has seemed to heat up with the soft car counts this season, particularly Indy. Like Bobby, I certainly don't believe NHRA to be perfect, and they have mishandled many things in my mind, but I certainly don't want the NHRA to go away. For those that pine for the "glory days", well, in many ways we're living them. As an example, I get we don't have 50 TF cars entered for Indy like the early days, but that doesn't mean this weekend won't be a fantastic show, that can't be seen anywhere else.

Frankly, I don't care for the tenor of the article. I don't like being told "Conform or be cast out." Whereas there have indeed been petty complaints/criticisms of the sanctioning body, firstly it's simply a person's opinion, and secondly some of the comments people make can easily be seen as constructive criticism too. Consider some of the "criticisms" that come from drivers/participants themselves. I believe they usually do have the best interests of the sport/sanctioning body at hand. Also, the criticism of Fox (and other media) coverage of events is absolutely legit. It isn't meant to "destroy" the sport, but should be seen as consumer feedback on what the purchasing party thinks.

The article implies that NHRA is the only sanctioning body that "counts". So if the IRHA sanctions a track that's somehow not as good??

Sorry, not impressed with the article at all.

not going to link it, i think everybody knows how to find content on youtube. go take a listen to the latest wes buck show. i think the
group of three who begin the show do a great job of discussing positives happening right now in drag racing; including courtney enders
who provides some thoughts on how the nhra fox broadcasts are mixing it up with their talent at nat. events this year. in the pits, on the starting line,
on the top end, they are moving talent around, eliciting varying responses from the tuners and drivers. they also discuss the continuous process of
developing personalities via social media; the technology we have available today that is helping our sport grow in time frames unimaginable
back in the 'glory days' when results and stories came weeks after events. they also hit on supporting as many drag racing organizations as possible.
