NHRA announces the return to 4 Qualifying sessions at every event except Virginia and Indy, also Saturday qualifying will feature Top Fuel first in Professional order followed by Funny Car. Similar to opening round on Sunday.

well, not for gainesville. tony s. is replacing tony s. in the TF call out race, as tony s. will not be attending the gators, but
the other tony s. who was 9th in callout points, will be attending, and hence replacing tony s. who was in 8th place prior to callout
i'm confused...who's on first?

Yes, but not before Pro Stock Motorcycle or Pro Stock.
On every Sunday at the Texas Motorplex national event they start with Top Fuel, or at least they have every time I've been there. Once in a while they'll lead with FC; no idea why. Friday qualifying it's always PSM (if PSM is running), then PS, FC, and TF. They like to run the nitro stuff last on Frida night because of the cooler conditions and the flame show for the fans.

Every Sunday always starts with TF.

My guess for the change is to not have to shuffle around the order when weather or some other factor causes a significant delay in racing. When there is a significant delay in racing and there is a chance the nitro cars don't get to run on Saturday, NHRA typically scrambles the run order to ensure the Nitro cars get a run it. I would guess this is for two reasons. 1) To make majority of the fans happy to see the nitro cars run. 2) Not have to give a credit for the tickets bought that day if the nitro cars get a run in.

Another reason I see is track prep. Following the Sunday order on saturday gives all teams more race day conditions to qualify in. Friday order is a no-brainer to keep as is so the fuel cars run last on cooler tracks.

I was thinking the Andretti announcement, but it looks like that is scheduled for Vegas 1. Can't figure this one out
