Goodyear will be the deciding factor IMO, the forces acting on the tire are tremendous. The speeds they are obtaining now are beyond what the tire can "safely" handle.The tires grow 48"s during the run.
I don't even think in circumference,as four feet would be about a 40% increase, which seems really high. Now I'm curious as to what the real numbers are.
The Winternationals in Australia could be a good test of what speeds will be seen over the quarter mile. Last year the Rapisardas went 337 at the same event. All of the top teams were running hard in Sydney a few weeks ago. Hopes are high here for the first 4.4 in the country and 340 is not totally off the radar.
PI X D = Circumference, rollout would be 113 to 116, IIRC one of the interviews the tire rollout was 120 seems like a big difference unless they are more like 38 dia
