One must wonder what the theoretical top speed is considering 8500rpm limit, 3.10 gear (I could be wrong abut that) and whatever the effective rollout of the tires is when they spin at 300mph. My fingers and toes add up to 10 mph, so that leaves me out of the calculation.

NHRA is in a bit of a pickle...fans want stupid speed, won't show up for 299mph cars--- insurance and tire companies want 250mph cars, they have to live with 338mph because the fans are just starting to trickle back. Time for leadership and vision, not hoping for the best.

13 T/F cars.....And again, NHRA needs to make it profitable for a regional car to show up and run and maybe turn a small profit on their weekend operating expenses. With all of the MBA's at the Glendora headquarters, it shouldn't be that hard to figure this out.

I'm getting a little tired of f$$kheads says "it's only 1,000 feet" or things similar (not here, elsewhere). How long have we been running 1,000 feet? Since 2009? Get over it already!

Theres only a few tracks that can produce and handle et /speeds like today, hopefully they will concider that before doing something.

I haven't been following in a few years...

Last time I followed, they chopped it to 1000' citing various reasons related to speeds getting too high. There was talk that was a temporary solution till a long term solution could be introduced.

So have they solved the problem... or just ignored it?

I genuinely don't know.

On a side subject.. are they phasing out PS for PM... and PSB for Nitro Harley? Again I don't know but I thought they should have done that back when I lost interest.

I don't know if any 'Maters here are related to Sebastien Lenormand (largely credited as the inventor of the parachute in 1783) - but if so, I bet Robert Hight would buy you a cold beer.

No one has to like it, but still complaining about it eight years later is childish.
Not many agree with me on this. No restrictions, 1380 feet. It is the Crew Chief and the Driver's job to get from the start to the finish as quick as they can and still get it stopped before the sand pit. It is not going to happen, but it was nice when the innovators could work to be the baddest, quickest, cars on earth.

.......perhaps you should ask Prock or Dickie if they're innovating to have the baddest, quickest, cars on earth?

There is innovation, it's just in small areas.

So 60' longer than a quarter mile?
