ESPN coverage back to old tricks

And have 50 weight on your arms from helping a nitro crew dump an oil tray, and mustard on your shirt from the best overcooked hotdog you've ever eaten and you stank from the smell of tire smoke from the 800 foot burnouts and your ears didn't stop ringing until you were home in your bed from the 95 percent dry hops.

Yeah- those days sucked... ;)

Home in bed? We used to camp at the track during the REALSummernationals..Brainerd acts like camping at the track is something new...

And people call Brainerd The Zoo? E-Town has some pretty interesting people who camp too. I remember one year with the rainouts that there was the pickup doing monster mud doughnuts!

I was one of the ones doing that, I forget what year it was(late 90's early 00's) but I remember covering cars in mud with my truck. The things you do when you are young and dumb:o:D.

I heard it was standard to have a mud bog pit at the zoo. And I heard that came to an end due to a truck getting stuck an the tow strap of the vehicle pulling the stuck truck out snapping and killing someone. I hear stories of wet t shirt contests which again I hear came to an end due to a gang rape. I heard of two fatalities at the zoo since I've been going in 2004.

I hear lots of stories, although I can't confirm them and they may have come from drunken conversations in the middle of it all. I can confirm that I've seen some pretty darn cool stuff there first hand though.

Just curious, can anyone confirm the stories I've heard?

IMO this might be a good time to bring an nhra event to memorial weekend.
we already own labor day, why not muscle in on that weekend, and why
not host in e-town? (and call it the summernationals).
is the nhra afraid of indy-cars?....they shouldn't be. the indy 500 is paltry
semblance of what it was and lately reports are nhra is a solid 2nd in american
tv viewership.
are you kidding me; give the east coasters a major race on a nat.
3-day weekend, how could it get better?....start it next year and in 2-3 years
the event could rival any other race on the schedule for importance and
a 'must see'.
i think mem. day weekend represents an opportunity for nhra to make a mark.
have not tuned into the indy 500 for years, used to not miss it.

Memorial Day weekend muscle in that area is OWNED by the beaches. I don't think that you will see an increase in attendance at E-town. If you are gonna take the shot, bring it to a market starving for the holiday weekend event.
