Dumb question...

Are video cameras allowed at national events (other than phones)? Don't want to have to walk all the way back to the car with mine if they aren't. I have will call tickets, otherwise I assume it would say on the ticket.

Appreciate the info, 'maters!

yes they are allowed, although I do believe that there is a size limit. Unless you plan on walking with with a tv crew you should be good. Use of the video afterwards can be an issue. Your own private library is all good. While there are many youtube racing videos if something major happens they have been known to have them removed Other than that you should be good to go.

Either on nhra's website or the individual track site will give a detailed list of items allowed as there is some variance between tracks

IDK, but at Vegas1 recently, I was standing near a gentleman who was toting a baby stroller converted to a full blown audio/video media rig.
One of those 3 wheel baby strollers that have spoked bicycle wheels/tires. He had various video cameras, tripods, monopods, still cameras, gigantic zoom lenses, a prop that was a hollow woman's leg (had a high heel and fishnet stocking).... the thing made sounds too.

Anyways, it was quite the set-up.

While your there, don't forget to put the camera down for a few runs. Although its fun to watch the videos all winter long, sometimes its a better expierence not having to worry about lugging the camera around and watching through an eyepiece.

I believe a detailed answer to your question will be on the back of the ticket you buy to enter the race.

Hey Toby, You might want to watch it, with the stupid questions. I have been warned by the lower ups, to mind my p.s and q,s, that i have two strikes against me already. And then there are the punctuation police, their the worst (I believe it,s a mental health issue with them). Alright,I,m done pulling your leg. Feel free to share any eye-candy you may obtain with your fellow maters. (sorry ladies, could,nt help it.). Enjoy the race Toby.

I didn't take a single photo on that Vegas trip!

I did however, take a few of some babes the day before at the Long Beach gran prix......:D

Here are some of my better shots. Just getting started in photography, so it is taking some getting used to for me. Like anything, I need practice!

Check them out on my site: www.nitrohype.com

Just click the thumbnails to see the whole image.

The one of my son is him on the right with his favorite, the Sarge, in the background. We missed seeing Tony in person, but my boy was pretty excited to see the Army car in person!

I use an HD Flip video camera for getting good basic videos. The Flip does really well but doesn't have a huge zoom. What I like about it is that it is small enough to slip into my pocket and uses rechargable batteries. I have a bigger camera for other uses but the Flip is perfect for when you don't want to lug a huge camera but still want something to remember the event.

I wonder.... How does Tony get to call himself "The Sarge" when he has never even been in the Army??

And that Jim Leiberman guy didn't live in a Jungle now did he????

That Son of a Gun Gordie Bonin isn't 240 years old either.... what the heck over?

And when was the last time you saw a crown on Kenny Bernstein's head? I mean, "THE BUD KING"? I don't think he's even smoked pot once....

And that Don Garlits guy doesn't look that "BIG" to me....

And Connie Kalitta... Yeah, he looks NOTHING like Boba Fet, Greedo or any of those guys in Empire Strikes Back...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sarcasm meter turned off now...
